I've done that before with a cup of tea. Thought the kettle had boiled when it hadn't and made myself a brew.

Done spellings with DS2, now doing his reading that he could have done with someone else alllll this week, sorted something on the laptop for DS1 that was "impossible" and that there was "no point in trying" but I've done it. At least DS1 is impressed. DH is out. Again.

I'm sure I knew how to crochet when I was at school or college. Completely forgotten how to do it.

at having a talk with DH. It's because he's doing really well this season in his sport competitions - team, individual and pairs - as well as the regular weekly matches. He did get knocked out of one competition last night though. Also, the nicer weather means that DS2 is playing out when he gets home instead of staying in and doing reading with DH because "he likes playing out and it's nice for him to be able to do it while it's not raining". Well yes, but that doesn't help when it doesn't leave much time for homework. Sigh.

Pottery Throwdown final is on but I'll have to watch later.

and I don't generally mind him being out, because peace and quiet and wenching and perving, but I'm getting a bit fed up of what feels like all DS2's homework falling to me especially when he's home before me.

Anyway. Spellings and reading done. DS2 in bed, although not asleep. I'm going to get into my pyjamas, and watch Pottery programme. Must remember to stay off Facebook as they'll put the winner on there!

Mornig all. I missed the pottery last night (it will be on the box) My grand plan was - get back fro dentist, feed DS and me, have a bath, get DS to bed, then do some of the work that I utterly failed to do yesterday daytime.

Then I fell asleep with DS at 9pm, so that was that!

If the Comte de Profiteroles involves whipped cream and melted chocolate with a certain HBF, then I'm waaaaaay ahead of you (My kitchen doesn't just have custard in it!)

Off to the dentist this morning. I have a tooth which is extremely sensitive to hot and cold, I think it must have an exposed nerve. Tea and wine have to be the same temperature, tepid. Ugh!

DH has yet another cold, the third this year. I've banished him to another bedroom. I'll still probably get it though.

I've looked for tutorials for crochet too, though not on YouTube, but to be honest, they make very hard work of it, not to mention the confusion of the UK/US terms.

So I went to the dentist. Apparently half of a filling has come out. Make an appointment, he said. When I get to the desk the earliest one is 15th May, ffs. I went into the loo and nearly burst into tears but instead went back to the desk and told them I couldn't wait till then, I'm in pain whenever I eat or drink. They're very nice there, and the receptionist said she'd look for a cancellation for me and let me know. DH has gone mad and wants to phone and complain, but I don't like trouble. It's not as if we're NHS, we pay a fucking expensive dental plan. Anyway, I'll wait it out.
