PS Any update on BathLad's? Really hoping he's improving?

They've given him a transfusion of white cells, he's very chirpy, they'll keep an eye on his white cell count and he has to finish his course of IV antibiotics, then back to the other hospital for more chemotherapy.

Ok....the chirpy bit sounds good? But the chemo not so. Hope you're ok Bath....and hope BathLad's looking resplendent in his purple wig! Will he have to go straight back for next round of chemo? Fingers crossed he makes the Lego movie x

Yes because the course of antibiotics is a fortnight and he goes in for an overnight stay for his chemotherapy once a fortnight, as he can't do 5 days chemotherapy straight with CF, it would kill him. The cancerous area is shrinking.

Don't know which wig he's got on today!

It helps that I'm busy with getting DC to school, café, shopping etc. Then I'll watch Barefoot Contessa when I get home, then it's time to pack drinks for both younger DC, snack for DS2 as DD has singing after school today and has her snack with her, I don't have time to sit and mope.

Bloody rubbish! But positive he's chirpy and bloody marvellous to hear it's shrinking! That's just fab Well am sure he looks great in whatever one he's wearing and hope he's out v soon and you can do a crazy birthday/Christmas 1-day mash up with lots of fun and good food inc purple carrots

Bath, hoping that BathsLad continues to improve white cell wise. That's excellent news about the cancer site shrinking, it sounds really positive but it must be such a fine balancing act between managing his CF and keeping on top of the chemo. They sound like they're doing a good job.

Sassy, purple carrots you say? Hmmm 🤔 I had black garlic in Tenerife one year and it was lovely (milder and sweeter than the original) but it was incredibly weird to eat something so familiar that was the wrong colour, iykwim? However I may just give them a whirl!

I'm feeling okay, bit nauseous after I first got up but that's gone now. I even braved a coffee earlier...!

Well, DD2 had an absolutely splendid birthday, so she said - it was quite simply the best birthday EVER. Oh, to be 9 again! Although she did get rather overtired/overexcited and tearful by bedtime!

Oh my, Bath - DD2 would be SO jealous! She keeps going on about pyjama day at school.

So glad BathsLad is out of hospital, that's great news!

Sassy - MORE purple carrots?! Watch you don't start turning violet! 😂 I actually know someone whose mum fed them so much carrot purée when she was weaning them, that they actually started to turn a rather fetching shade of orange! I suspect you would need to eat a tremendous amount as an adult to get the same effect, though. Although do let us know!
