  1. How would you describe yourself with reference to religion? (i.e. Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic, Humanist, Pagan etc)
  1. Write down one sentence, phrase, or passage that you associate with church. It could be something from the bible, could be part of a hymn, could be something from a regular service, a wedding service - whatever!

Thanks very much - I'll tell you why later, but can't really yet as it might affect your answers!

1 - Practising Christian

2 - For I know that neither death nor life...can separate us from the love of God (Rom. 8)

Go to a happy clappy myself, and love a modern vibrant service. I use the NIV bible, or even The Message, I find contemporary language much more accessible. However, I think there is a place for the traditional liturgy too, I enjoy it occasionally, and understand why some people appreciate the poetry and majesty of the language. I think both types of service need to be accessible, but a warm welcome and an invitation to lunch/good children's work/relevant sermon can be much more imporatnt in making someone feel at home than the style of the service
