I would like to try being a medical secretary. Also I would like my blob to arrive a bit early this morning then it's not anywhere to be seen by next Friday when I am out at a Christmas party.

Didn't get home in time to see DS1 off . Missed him by about 10 seconds I reckon. Stupid traffic.

DH has decided to get the tree and decorations down tonight. Obviously we'll need to tidy up and clean before it can all go up. His suggestion was that this all happens this evening. On a Friday. When I'm knackered and the only thing I want in my immediate future is a little light sitting down, a glass of Pimms or vodka, and a bath.

Tree and decorations are therefore coming down tomorrow.

I worked in a doctors' surgery after I officially retired. I got bored after six months of doing nothing and applied for a p/t position as a receptionist, thinking it would be a nice cushy job sitting there being nice to patients all day. My God, I've never worked so hard in my life. Most of the patients were lovely, but some could be really demanding. I was there for 6 years until I was required as a childminder.

Sorry you didn't see DS1 off LetUs. Is it a school thing? I'm sure you said, but I must have missed it.

I've gone off the receptionists at my surgery a bit, or at least the two who have been there the last couple of times I've been. The others are lovely. Phoning a patient to discuss/pass on their test results but speaking really loudly. The whole waiting room could hear everything - patient's name, test results, etc. Loud conversations between each other (we don't all want to know your plans for the weekend) including one discussion where one of them related a tale her boyfriend had told her and which she declared to be "bullshit".

Apricot - he's gone away for the weekend with lovely MIL and a cousin seeing family. They've gone for the last few years.

Badderz - use an old toothbrush is the sum total of my cleaning help

I'm not keen on the receptionists at my dr surgery - they are very wary of me as I've made complaints about all of them at some point!
They are strangers to safeguarding and data protection I will say that!
Work is crap ATM - the kitchen staff are being twats and the kids are all so tired and cranky - spending lots of time comforting exhausted 4/5 year olds most days...

Evening. I had a nice lunch out with friends, then I came home and felt rough. Hope those too aren't related. My brain feels a bit mushy though.

He is here! The plane didn't crash!! It was like the bit in Love Actually at the airport, though with lots more blotchyness and I cried so much I gave myself hiccups.

Hilariously met some lovely South Walians waiting in arrivals for their daughter where the dad was in bits, so Mr C got him onto the London Welsh situ and we all ended up having a huge discussion about that and all took our minds off the waiting.

Ds1 did brilliantly on plane as was seated next to minute Japanese lady who took up 1/3 of her seat and who slept most of the time so quiet and lots of elbow room! I almost always get some musclebound airhead to sit next to who takes over all the shared armrest and then invades all your personal space. 😆.

Off out for a walk round before dinner so must go.

I am off to sporting activity after the world most useless lie-in that involved continuous anxiety dreams about trying to get home from a trip with DH, then ending up on a train without DH back in the BigCity where I used to live, meeting up with friend there and going on short cut through BigCity (which randomly included the Elephant Gate from the Carlsburg brewery in Copenhagen) and then lots of unlit and slightly dubious streets. eventually got to another train station and got on train but all the ... you know what, I'm going to bore you to tears with this one if I carry on and there weren't even any HBFs.

Ive said it before but Ill say it again... helens subconscious - calm the feck down!!!!! Give the poor girl a rest...
