DS is sick, what would a good Italian mum cook for him? First time he is properly sick, I need to cook him something, even if he might not eat it...

Thanks ellbell tvb as well {smile]. Actually tvb all, this thread makes me allegra!

mediterraneo · 15/03/2007 13:24

Then she will do a blood test. Lots of mild cramps and back acke during the night, but no bleeding. The whole thing has gone beyond the ridicule. Last time I have sex I tell you.

franca70 · 15/03/2007 13:30

oh med! (today I feel affettuosa, so I'm sending you a hug). I love il giardino dei finzi contini (and love the de sica movie too, with helmut berger!!!)

mediterraneo · 15/03/2007 13:48

Mmm, helmut berger, that really cheers me no end. I was gobsmacked as a ragazzina to discover he was gay!
Hug recieved! will see if the de sica dvd is available in the UK.

mediterraneo · 15/03/2007 14:35

I checked iwth Amazon Rental, but they don't have it. Pity.
What are you all reading? Stuck!

franca70 · 15/03/2007 15:12

yes, he was visconti's lover, apparently. I used to find him extremely conturbante...
I'm reading the granta collection "loved ones". Next I have a graham greene.

mediterraneo · 15/03/2007 18:45

Lot at "conturbante" - don't think I have ever used that word.
Don't know what to read, can only look at photography books.

PippiLangstrump · 15/03/2007 19:05

buonasera a tutte.

can I suggest margaret atwood's cats eye? or Moon Palace by Paul Auster?

or a new book I am reading now 'can any mother help me?' (see thread). it's brilliant!

franca70 · 15/03/2007 19:09

ciao pippi!
(ashamed emoticon) I've never read paul auster, but I promise I will.
Photographic books are good. Hai letto caro michele della ginzburg med?

mediterraneo · 15/03/2007 19:12

Vado pazza per Caro Michele. I find Paul Auster incredibly attractive, but find his novels a bit too contrite.
I read a lot of Atwood when I was 18 and a feminist.
I am going to try and find something to read iwth the help of my pregnant or non/pregnant brain.

PippiLangstrump · 15/03/2007 19:22

[ashemed emot back] never read Caro Michele. Will add to my little black book of 'must reads'

ciao califrau. it's good isn't it? I could see my child self in it... sometimes as the victim and sometimes as the bully tbh . it's true what she says, girls at that age can be horible.

I remember in primary school I got invited at the girlie girlie house in the aft and made to be the maid (it is still painful) and serve them their tea. and that's because I was a tomboy.

did you read the blind assasin?

franca70 · 15/03/2007 22:23

hi pippi, this summer we ar going to tuscany because, we are going with a couple of friends who've just had another baby, and salina is a bit too extreme for a 6 months old in august! I'm missing it already!
