I'm totally gobsmacked today that my sister and co have decided to come for Christmas. Invited them thinking they'd never come, but she has a couple of inset days tacked on to hols and they've managed to get some flights booked (with a boring long stop but hey) so I have those 4, plus Uncle C coming . I'm so excited. And now need to go to IKEA as I need more beds.

Oh and I heard that Trump tape earlier. Utterly vile.

And finally to say I saw DBS this afternoon. I thought TB was fantastic in it, although clearly Helen McC was extraordinary in the role. We (new neighbour friend, let's call her Sheila) felt quite shellshocked afterwards and had to go and have whisky cocktails.

Cometss - yay for seeing DBS, and good excuse for whisky cocktails I really enjoyed it but I think a lot of the subtext went over my head - elk made lots of intelligent comments about if afterwards while I went "Oh! Yes..." nodded wisely and agreed with her I also wanted to see Yerma while I was in London seeing DBS (my twitter timeline and FB was full of people saying how brilliantly astounding it was.) But by the time we'd decided who wanted to go, they were sold out. Possibly a good thing in retrospect since I don't think I needed to be emotionally pummelled on that subject.
Also yay for needing to buy more beds though you could just make them camp in the garden with all the creepy crawly slithery beasties

All I have to say for today really is, bastard neighbours lighting a bonfire after I'd hug out the washing. I was thoroughly please when the wind shifted and sent huge gusts of smoke all over their house. Serves them bloody right, inconsiderate gits.

Have otherwise been homework supervising with DS and cooking and stuff.

Hey all. Thank you for the lovely words yesterday. It really helped and I've been jolted out of the self pitying haze. In a fit of mum guilt I gave the boys the stormtrooper nerf pistols I had bought for a stocking filler. They've been tearing about the living room shooting each other very happily.

Haven't seen the Trump tape so far, but doubt that anyone not already put off by him would change their mind now. It's hardly news that the man is a vile sexist pig. Am also fuming at the lame coverage of the non-payment of tax. Off-setting losses against future profits is a perfectly legitimate practice available to (and used by) every business, both large and small. It is not some artificial tax dodge dreamed up by crooked accountants. It's a non-story. Go after him for claiming to be such a fab businessman despite generating an enormous loss, or query whether the loss is genuine, or whether profits have been sheltered off-shore
