how do you physically view houses when they are far away from where you live? like, for moving house

dragging the girls around house viewings is bad enough without the houses being 2 - 2.5 hrs away initially

how do we do it?

dh lives in the city we (think) we will be moving to?

do i Trust Him to view these houses alone?

there is that fimbo. when we last moved house (19 months ago) the person who bought our house asked for an entry date 4 months after the deal had closed

I viewed several houses via the internet, saw our current house once before buying it. DH didn't see it until the day we moved in.

We like it a lot but might eventually move for more land.

I also researched the area using the internet as we'd never lived in the county before.

Welcome to my life!

I am looking at the moment and in the same position. What I do is to ring the estate agent and grill them! I have also spoke with all the other mums in the playground to find out if any of them knows anyone in the vicinity of where we are looking. Bingo! Found a woman who lives about 5 minutes from where we have arranged viewings. Grilled her about the area/schools/people etc...and got a very good idea of what I should expect.

Going there tomorrow to view...
