Grumpy?

I hate that accent, np. I really, really do. Dunno why. Just always have.

My venue will always be a drinking establishment in The Shore. The Waterline. Which has been granted permission by the council to erect a huge patio w/heat lamps.

Who wants to nip outside for a fag?

expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 16:14

Phil's a ponce.

She's an even bigger one.

I have nightmares my daughter takes up w/a bloke like that and we have to send her away to a place where there are some real men about .

expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 16:14

Oh, mellow, this council is so funny!

They put in more controlled parking.

Then duffed up and didn't send the residents their permits in time.

D'oh!

nailpolish · 12/01/2007 16:15

I'm with Expat don't like their accents.

expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 16:16

The Lighthouse has changed hands. It's called something else now. But the Waterline is just across the road and down the street from the King's Whark, so it's in the same area.

In fact, that entire street is a giant pub crawl .

nailpolish · 12/01/2007 16:17

WooHoo @ "giant pub crawl"

expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 16:17

You can watch our bags whilst I nip out for a ciggy.

I'll be right back .

Fimbo · 12/01/2007 16:17

NP just to add we rented down here for 6 months too - too much to risk buying a house in a city which we knew nothing about. Albeit you don't have that problem.

expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 16:19

My sis and BIL went pub crawling there, b/c it's a quarter of a mile from our flat.

They came back utterly bladdered and laughing their erses off in the stair.

Piffle · 12/01/2007 16:26

Gt him to shortlist some for you
Then come up for a weekend and arrange to see the ones you'd like - maybe he cna take photos etc
When we moved we used rightmove to shortlist properties then did a weekend up there and got to see all our shortlist in 2 days

paulaplumpbottom · 12/01/2007 16:29

Are there no property websites for that area?

nailpolish · 12/01/2007 16:30

but what if you see your dream home and you still have a 5 months left on the rent cotnract

!!!!

OP posts:
nailpolish · 12/01/2007 16:30

yes theres loads paula but its not close to seeing it yourself

they have lots of pics tho

OP posts:
beckybrastraps · 12/01/2007 16:33

Well, I was going to say you could easily make it take that long, but you will be in Scotland, so once the offers in it's all over bar the shouting isn't it? Hmmm...

beckybrastraps · 12/01/2007 16:34

offer's

nailpolish · 12/01/2007 16:35

thats right becky

you make an offer over the asking price and then they set a closing date and the highest wins

OP posts:
nailpolish · 12/01/2007 16:35

a lot are fixed price tho that ive been looking at, so you offer that price and its yours

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 16:35

Yeah, but what if you buy some place, and you didn't rent, and then it turns out to be a pile, or you don't like it, or the schools?

nailpolish · 12/01/2007 16:36

good point expat

OP posts:
paulaplumpbottom · 12/01/2007 16:37

I agree, but it might help you narrow things down.

expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 16:39

When the place is right, everything will fall into place.

Fimbo · 12/01/2007 16:41

Just put the entry date down as five months hence! It takes so blooming long for the deal to be done down here, you would need the 6 months and more!
