Also loving the 'children as chimps' phrase. I think I'm much happier not seeing my children in teh playground!

Nice Dog pic helen

The Musketeers-Signal Tumblr has a link to the Apple Store event as one of today's post. Happy memories! Was also my first wench meet-up

MrsEvadneCake · 28/01/2016 17:37

Badders are you a school working wench now? I'm woefully not caught up! The playground is fascinating. I love being out there.

I'm off to parents evening in a while for little DS. It feels strange not working it.

So a quick catch up: my hours at work got cut unexpectedly the day before we broke up for Christmas. My depression has been an arse. I am however feeling more positive these last few days and getting my groove back.

Badders123 · 28/01/2016 17:58

So lovely to see you back, minty 😀
I started as a midday supervisor dinnerlady on Monday. It's very interesting! It's not the KS1 kids that are the issue...it's the bloody year 5s! 😱
I'm assuming the cut in hours was unexpected? :( what a time to do it, too! Glad to hear you are feeling more positive.
JanUary is rough as fuck imho. I bloody hate it.

FancyFancy · 28/01/2016 18:09

What a bugger about the hours minty, but glad you're feeling a bit brighter.

Today I saw the first blossom of the year - the blackthorn trees are out, I have loads of snowdrops in my garden & it was still pretty light at 5pm - so things are looking up!

Do you feel like Treville, being in charge of a lot of troublesome yr5's badders? Grin

Badders123 · 28/01/2016 18:16

Treville had it easy compared to me! 😀
Vast majority of the kids are lovely but it's a full moon, very windy and the end of the week. It's sent them all mental 😵

Badders123 · 28/01/2016 18:17

I have snowdrops too. Daffs are coming up.
So nice to see some sun today.
Dh back tomorrow afternoon! 😊

DartsTart · 28/01/2016 18:24

helen that is MOST kind of you - he really is completely sodding gorgeous FFS

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2016 18:34

We've had daffodils on our road for a while (well, obviously not literally on the road or they'd have been squashed to pulp by the racing tractors) and I noticed that my parents' snowdrops are showing their faces too. Haven't noticed any blosson, apart from Gorse which flowers all year round.

Tart - duty, pleasure and all that.

FancyFancy · 28/01/2016 18:37

Some of my snowdrops were out before Christmas FFS! Spring is on it's way, and that must bring Series 3 closer, mustn't it?

MrsEvadneCake · 28/01/2016 18:44

Badders that's fab news. The Y5s are all barking. It's their age Grin

Parents evening was ok. He's working well. Bit slow and His handwriting is an issue but both of those things are mostly likely his dyspraxia that we are sorting out.

FancyFancy · 28/01/2016 18:51

Are the school providing good support for him them minty?

MrsEvadneCake · 28/01/2016 18:56

They are doing what they can fancy. He has a screen to work behind and ear defenders to help him concentrate. They ar trying different organisation techniques to help. It is a case of time and support and it'll improve to a degree. He is a very bright and articulate child but writing is hard.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2016 18:59

Good luck with Parents' evening Minty Good that school are trying their best to support.

MrsEvadneCake · 28/01/2016 19:04

Thanks Helen

FancyFancy · 28/01/2016 19:06

Good that they are trying minty, I guess it'll take a little while to find the the techniques that work best for him?

MrsEvadneCake · 28/01/2016 19:35

It will Fancy and it's hard sometimes because the focus on writing means he gets fed up. I wish I could home school. But I'm lucky because he does get support.

FancyFancy · 28/01/2016 20:24

I can imagine, I think most kids get fed up with having to spend a lot of time concentrating on writing!

FancyFancy · 28/01/2016 20:33

soooo, when can we expect s3 news bbc?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2016 20:57

Bless - Inconvenient cat all but has his nose pressed to the TV screen watching WinterWatch. It's one big menu as far as he's concerned.

LetUsPrey · 28/01/2016 21:12

Evening wenches. Have RBNR.

Not been in long. Parked up at home, ran walked quickly and met DH and the DC at school for DS1's parents evening. All very good. All about options too which is quite frankly baffling and I have a headache. Only just finished dinner.

Loving all the pictures

Evening letus. Glad parents evening was good, talking about options is a bit of a shock to the system.

Have an Aramis pic to soothe you

I suppose nose pressed to teh tv screen is better than him draping himself across your laptop helen?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2016 21:20

He's draped across me and the laptop now Fancy Hmm

FancyFancy · 28/01/2016 21:40

And is he looking peeved every time you move, or nudge him when you type? Or is that just FancyCat?
