I am FREAKING out.

DH accepted a job today in our home country. We have told the kids. I have to tell work tomorrow.

He is starting in January. The DC and I will finish out the school year, sell the flat and follow.

Freaking out doesn't cover it actually. Fuck fuck fuck.

Awww you guys are making me blush

Have just arrived at mum's in Toronto. I embarrassed myself by bursting into tears at the airport when I saw DH... did not expect to be so emotional! But then again it has been 10 weeks since we saw each other. So great to see my mum too, she is looking very well.

DH had these "welcome home" care packages for the girls full of little treats for them, stickers, sweeties, baseball caps, gift cards for a vair Canadian coffee shop chain etc. It was so sweet. And then I got a gift too - totally unexpected - a pair of absolutely lovely earrings. Will see if I can post a photo later.

Fuck am I a lucky woman.

So if anyone is still reading, the movers are here and the flat is slowly being emptied. It's going to take them 3 days. We had to suspend SEVEN parking bays for the sea container on Thursday. Needless to say I am not very popular with the neighbours

Tis all very daunting. DH and the girls are off selling the car as we speak, I have freecycled to within an inch of my life, we are using every spare microgram of our 8 bag/ 23 kg luggage allowance and I just hope I have organised everything well enough.

Moving with your kids is really different from just moving yourselves. I've done a ton of international moves but never with a whole family in tow. It's a whole new level of pressure to be (a) organised (b) calm and (c) happy, upbeat and supportive.
