Re books - forgot to mention Bill Bryson in the non-fiction choices. Not a good choice though if you don't want strange looks from people because you're a-snorting and guffawing by the pool on holiday.

fancy your theory about Heathcliff made me sad for him. I always thought he died because he realised his revenge was meaningless and wouldn't make him happy.

Have realised that fancying Heathcliff in the time before he runs away is quite pervy though (as too young) and should only really be fancying him after he comes back. Maybe over analysing though, as fiction.

I haven't read Wuthering Heights - it's one of those books I keep meaning to.

My favourite books of all time are 1984 and To Kill A Mockingbird - don't know whether to read the sequel though.

Anyone know if The Handmaiden's Tale is any good. I just downloaded it. I love dystopian fiction and it just seems like one to read as I have heard loads about it.

Yay Livia another 1984 fan. Although I don't know, maybe you will say you have a thing for O'Brien...

I have been wanting to read the handmaid's tail for ages (years) but keep forgetting to. So can't actually recommend it as not read. My friend who is an English teacher was telling me the other day that it is amazing though.

The other more up-to-date one I am currently meaning to read is Gone Girl.
