Can I just say I have read none of those books but agree Santi would be OMC perfect for all those roles.

Livia I want to like him because he is part Italian like me but although I think he does a great job of playing the cardinal and makes the character really complex and almost cool, I don't actually fancy him.

(disclaimer - I obviously don't think everyone who is Italian is automatically great, as there are some massive exceptions both in history and present day!)

Have finally caught up with the thread - minimal amounts retained

Fav books -

1. P&P, it is like a blanket of calm when life is a shitstorm, I adore it.
2. Discworld, don't ask me to narrow it further than that!
3. Lymond Chronicles by Dorothy Dunnet. The main character is the heir to a Scottish Baronetcy, it starts in the mid 1500's. The historical detail is fantastic and the protagonist is utterly swoon-inducing. TB would be absolutely perfect for the role. Infact he is who I shall picture the next time I re-read one of them!

On that subject comtess I totally feel your pain. It is fucking ridiculous, show for this, presentation for that. Meetings about leaving, meetings about starting. Extra trips, events, a list of items required at various points over the last month that is as long as my arm. DS1 had a day off yesterday, poor chap is knackered. He was pale as a ghost at 8am yesterday and just said 'mummy please can I go back to bed', so I let him.
The teachers all look exhausted too - it isn't that I don't appreciate the effort they are putting in, because I do - I just genuinely don't understand why they can't do some of this stuff earlier in the year rather than cramming it all into the last month of the summer term.

Oh and while I'm on catch up I'm going for the grey shirt. Proper grey, not just grubby, like they had when they dressed up as Spanish soldiers.
