Some of us are sat in the communal tavern bed eating cake and being drunk. Some of us are on a forrinholiday having a very successfull and enjoyable time.

Some of us would like this

The man bun has not quite made it across the water. I give it 6 months. The hipster beard only arrived a few months ago.

Morning wenches!

Hope all plague wenches are feeling better and Mavis' rib is improved this morning.

Wrt that blog, Tom is NOT an introvert. He is very open and friendly and throws himself into social situations. At least that's my experience. Grin

WTF is a fitbit? I googled and it seems to be a £70 bracelet that tells me I haven't had a good night's sleep. I know that from the bags under my eyes!

Another one for the non-book reading club. I love books, but I haven't read one for years except 50 Shades, I just don't seem to have the time. Fave book - Jane Eyre, read when I was 12 and in bed with measles. A kind neighbour gave it to me (the book, not measles). It opened up a whole new world for me, and I've read it many times since.

Have a good day all!

I liked Jane Eyre alot, but didn't adore it as many do.

Have read Wuthering Heights about 3 million times since I was 13 (although I appreciate that is a different sister!).

morelikeguidelines · 16/07/2015 09:02

enormous do you live in northern Ireland? (seem to have that in mind from earlier posts, although if you said Republic of Ireland sorry for mistake)

For some reason I find northern Irish accents very sexy, even if the person in question is not otherwise attractive, but especially if they are.

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 09:15

I'm in NI mlg. I prefer the irish accent to the NI one. Irish is sexy, northern Irish can be a bit whingey sometimes.

Still feel like shit Sad

I love Jane Eyre! And The count of Monte Cristo. Other favourites are Sepulchre by Kate Mosse, Fingersmith by Sarah Waters and Distant Hours by Kate Morton.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2015 09:32

Apricot - LOL at a £70 bracelet that tells me I haven't had a good night's sleep

My favourite book - heaven knows, depends what mood I'm in. Anything by Neil Gaiman works for me, usually. But also Terry Pratchett if I want a really good giggle

Right, I have to work.

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/07/2015 09:33

Fav book 3: pride and prej, obvs.

morelikeguidelines · 16/07/2015 09:35

fancy - exactly the same as me! I was going to add I hate nearly all the characters, especially Catchy. Why anyone is in love with her I can't understand. Also, you want to yell at Heathcliff "just move on!"

I love younger Catherine though (the one who ends up with Hareton).

I have read six wives of Henry VIII by antonia fraser, also enjoyed the one with a similar name by Alison Weir.

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/07/2015 09:35

Oh and I love hitch hikers letus and all douglas adams and Terry pratchett. RIP both.

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/07/2015 09:38

I rarely read historical stuff or non fiction, apart from occasionally science stuff.

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 09:39

I've read the alison weir 6 wives one.

And her isabella, she wolf of france.

I also read a lot of true crime.

morelikeguidelines · 16/07/2015 09:54

I love tp - especially anything involving the watch. The first book I read was feet of clay, which I still really love having read most of the discworld series.

I don't really read much true crime (ironically, would be bus man's holiday) but I love fictional crime. Have any of you wenches ever read Christopher brookmyre?

morelikeguidelines · 16/07/2015 09:55

If so, zal innez is my favourite character in any book ever.

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 09:58

I really liked the French lieutenants woman. That's another on my favourites list.

I also read a lot of graphic novels. Any other wench like them? My favourites are Maus, Persepolis and from hell.

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 10:00

Oh and Neil gaiman

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 10:19

No norah today? Nobody's said GOOD MORNING FUCKERSZSZSZSZ.

I miss it

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2015 10:22

MoreLike - Christopher Brookmyre. Oh yes - excellent stuff. Zal is well cool (and FAF in my head, but possibly doesn't look like he was written in the book). Tim Vale is also v. entertaining.
Also like Margaret Attwood, and Anita Shreeve, but the latter is a bit of a gloom-fest

Mouse - Sandman and Hellblazer, but I haven't read Hellblazer for years - used to read a friend's copies, and we've been out of touch apart from Xmas cards for years now.

I need to get back to work - haven't even started on what I planned to do this morning - faffing on other bits and pieces that need attention. Sad

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 10:26

helen if you want to get back into hellblazer, I recommend justice league dark of the new 52 continuity.

Mr M recommends swamp thing.

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 10:28

Justice league dark vol 1 is written by a hellblazer writer

morelikeguidelines · 16/07/2015 10:31

Helen he is written as blonde in the book, but not in my head!

I was amazed to find that a straight bloke could create the character of zal tbh.

MiladyBeaWinter · 16/07/2015 11:18

Morning (just). Am also Grin at Apes description of the FitBit.

Hmmm favourite book. Probably Witches Abroad by Terry Pratchett. Love the witches, there is something very wenchy about them, especially Nanny Ogg Hannah.

Also like Alison Weir, and Wolf Hall was brilliant. Just finished the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society for book group and really really enjoyed it.

I'm with Cinn though on Cloud Atlas. Only got about 12 pages in. Twice. Then gave it to the charity stand. Maybe I should try again as it's the only book that has beaten me recently. I have to finish them.

You don't suppose she went into the dungeon do you? Shock

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2015 11:51

Has anyone looked in the Cwtch Cupboard?

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 11:59

I'll check behind the bar
