I have indeed seen those Mavis but it never hurts to see stuff again, and again and again and again Grin

Excellent pics

Sit with me Madame in the When Did I Last Read A Proper Book corner.

That blog post is a bit sus IMO

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 15/07/2015 22:11

I think it's a load of bollocks. Well, some of it. I wonder if it'll be 'spotted'

LaComtess · 15/07/2015 22:26

Bollocks or not it made me laugh Grin.

Who was calling you a bunch of conts? Shock

Wicked - poor darling have you got the plague from Madame??

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/07/2015 22:28

I need to go to bed and carry on with my mission to catch up on sleep.

LaComtess · 15/07/2015 22:29

Ooh Mave I'm Wel jel about the lightning deal on the fitbit.

FancyFancy · 15/07/2015 22:41

Evening

There are some gorgeous pics in here tonight, the Santi Apple Store one from cinn is a particular fave. And the Aramis & 'Porthos's head' one made me snort.

I am so with you on the end of term fed-upness comtess - an endless round of charity days, mufti days, trips etc. A thousand opportunities to fuck up because the routine has changed. Have spent a chunk of this evening collecting DD from overlycomplicatedafterschoolclub & am back at her school tomorrow evening. Thank god Friday is the last day of term.

Talking of Reading Proper Books, I got given 'Cloud Atlas' last Christmas, (ie 2014), and haven't got past about page 10. Has anyone here read it ? Is it worth persisting with ? (NB, my standard reading material is on the lightweight side, being Ellis Peters and Terry Pratchett, et al)

What a load of rubbish.

I can't remember anything, but I still have the plague and just did a video interview with half a voice. It will be a miracle if I get a call back.

It is Wednesday so I will have to make do. Making do isn't so bad actually.

I have an idea for next wench meet up ... We should do wench treasure hunt in teams.

Find a man bun
find a sword
find a man in a billowly shirt

Cinnamoncookie · 15/07/2015 22:48

find a semi-nekkid hottie with a hairy chest
find a fleur de lys
find some magnetic trousers

AnneOfAramis · 15/07/2015 22:48

There are MNetters who rave about Cloud Atlas before I became a wench and participated in wider MN life I sounds like a load of pretentious nonsense. My reading is an acquired taste but I like it.

AnneOfAramis · 15/07/2015 22:49

I am telling you now Team Aramis will win this contest.

FancyFancy · 15/07/2015 22:54

Brew and extra strength drugs to all plague wenches. I think I escaped lightly as my (slightly) sore throat came to nothing in the end. Still need to catch up on my sleep though.

Like the idea of a wench treasure hunt anne, but fear for our ability to take pics of the items in question Grin

FancyFancy · 15/07/2015 22:56

find a semi-nekkid hottie with a hairy chest if I found one of those cinn, the rest of the treasure hunt could FRO

morelikeguidelines · 15/07/2015 22:58

Cloudatlas was good imo. You have to just get past the first little bit before it becomes interesting.

If I could get into it anyone could, as I can never read "clever" books.

AnneOfAramis · 15/07/2015 23:02

Even more challenging get the hottie to take the shirt off

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 15/07/2015 23:07

I tell you what, we missed a trick not having that game lined up for this wench vac Shock

Rewind - we're going back!!

And of course Team Aramis would win. PFFT!

AnneOfAramis · 15/07/2015 23:15

Oh the hilarity that it would have caused. We could do this in multiple cities at the same time. It would be carnage!!!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 16/07/2015 00:43

Thanks wenches and yes Comtess, to much snogging with Madame probably Wink

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/07/2015 07:39

Omg cinn cloud atlas is fucking amazing imo. And all david Mitchell books. Definitely persist!!!

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/07/2015 07:57

Shall we have a "whats your fav book" riff today?

With the cavear that this qu is as hard to answer as "whats your fav song", so your answer does not have to be definitive and you can have many go's.

So....ummm.....

A room with a view

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/07/2015 07:58

Fav book no 2:

Jonathan Franzen The Corrections

Enormouse · 16/07/2015 07:58

Morning

Love in a time of cholera

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/07/2015 07:59

Errr.... up ^ there I meant caveat, not caviar, btw. Ahahaha.

morelikeguidelines · 16/07/2015 08:05

Mine is The Count of Monte Cristo .

Or possibly 1984 but everyone says that one.

LetUsPrey · 16/07/2015 08:18

Morning wenches.

Off the top of my head, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Last Chance to See (both versions) for non-fiction

Lovely day here.

I already found the man bun when I was in nearbybigcity so Team Aramis are already on their way. And if you count the bit when Paella lifted his t shirt up a bit, I got the semi-nekkid hottie with a hairy chest too (I wish)

Oh look more hotties
