Some of us are sat in the communal tavern bed eating cake and being drunk. Some of us are on a forrinholiday having a very successfull and enjoyable time.

Some of us would like this

Well that certainly stirs some feelings Liv but thanks for the thought.... Grin

Had tea and choc and am going to bed. Night my lovelies.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2015 21:46

Night all...

morelikeguidelines · 14/07/2015 21:49

Issy all that you say is true. I always think one of the main things Henry had going for him was that he was blatantly not the king by the rules of th e day. As such he was much better at it (less inbred perhaps?).

morelikeguidelines · 14/07/2015 21:50

Helen I wasn't being sarcastic! Would like to read that book if I ever find the time (too much is clearly taken up in here...)

FancyFancy · 14/07/2015 21:51

Night to all those heading off for an early night. Have a little something to induce sweet dreams.

Evening wenches.

Loving West Side Wenches and songs. Have to admit that, despite being red rose to my core, I'm also a Ricardian. I loved when they found him and all the pageantry re reburial. And I think he was a good king and bollocks to Shakespeare.

That said I also LOVE Elizabeth I and the Tudors. If any wench likes that era they should read She-Wolves. Helen is that book any good? Bearing in mind I think Liz was amazing and MQS was a stupid cow?

Had a lovely day. Had great weather for once and DC have had a ball. Am a bit sunburnt, pissed & full of BBQ.

FancyFancy · 14/07/2015 22:59

I'm afraid all I know about them all is what horrible histories has taught me, mainly through the medium of song.
^thick wench emoticon.
Still maybe I'll look out for your book recommendation and see if I can buy them. Bettering meself innit.
although I'd rather read something else

Hope you are all ok, I'm carrying on with my vaguebutexcitingplan because well, who knows?
Have a good day to all of yous who are off out.

DS woek up early and got out of bed with a thius, which woke me up, so I'm running well ahead of schedule.... which will mean we'll be running late by the time I go.

MoreLike Grin it's ok - we do cross posts all the time here, and I know what you mean about too much time spent here. I hardly read any books now because free time seems to be spent here.

MrsB - it's well worth a read whoever's perspective you're reading from because it gives much more context than a lot of books do - or at least presents it side by side so you can see how things interlock. iyswim?

And now I think this thread is quite pretty, but a bit light on Athos... (though I'll throw in some others because I'm generous, see?)

morelikeguidelines · 15/07/2015 09:01

letus yes one of the brothers in the white queen. Richard was the nicer one - loyal to Edward etc

norah I adore horrible histories.

MiladyBeaWinter · 15/07/2015 09:13

Morning. I'm still in bed. It was lovely and peaceful and then DS came in for a snuggle (which was good) but now he is wriggling about and playing on my ipad so not so good or peaceful.

Am waiting for DH to make and bring me coffee. Love holidays. Just a few more days English system wenches .

Horrible Histories is brilliant. Big wench favourite.

MiladyBeaWinter · 15/07/2015 09:20

I'm reading Dan Jones Plantagenets at the moment. It's good but very very long and I'm struggling with enthusiasm re it. But not letting myself read anything else until I've done it as I HAVE to finish a book once I've started. It's the rules see.

Anyone read To Set a Watchman yet? Heard a review yesterday that said it should never have been published Hmm.

I think I'm going to have to go get my own coffee.....

Enormouse · 15/07/2015 10:03

Morning,

has anyone read Sun in splendour?
I'm a white rose. I always thought that Margaret Beaufort and Henry VII had something to do with the princes in the tower.

Boys have had several rounds of breakfast and I've only started my first cup of tea.

Bea I didn't realise go set a watchman was out yet.

Hi ww, nice to have you back.

MiladyBeaWinter · 15/07/2015 10:21

Loved Sun in Splendour Mouse. Read a couple of her others books and enjoyed them. I do like a historical novel, but not if it's crap made up history .

I have coffee and am back in bed. Doubt for long, as DC sound hungry.

ApricotCrush · 15/07/2015 11:32

Morning all! Up to my eyeballs in washing and ironing. It was so hot whilst we were away that I ran out of clothes and had to do washing there. Hung it up in the shower to drip and it was ready next morning!

Comtess I do intend to do a report on the places we visited when I get round to it.

FolknNorah · 15/07/2015 11:37

I last read something about witches by Nora Roberts. Because of the name. Blush Grin

I tend to read lots of crochet and making things books! magazines, blogs etc a well as stuff on ao3
