As you were. Please wash your HBFs before entering the tavern. We have a Health and Safety inspection later this week.

Dear God, what are trying to do to us Norah?

Enormouse · 15/06/2015 20:46

Blimey

FancyFancy · 15/06/2015 20:46

I have been in the Snug

Grin

That is all.

FolknNorah · 15/06/2015 20:52

Is it ok then? you have NO IDEA how long those minutes seem to take when you're waiting for the wenches to read stuff.
No idea.
I have aged about 5 years.

And now, GoT. Come on baddersz let's do this togevver.
Night night wenchies

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 15/06/2015 20:57

Norah So in other words you look about 25 now?

AnneOfAramis · 15/06/2015 21:04

No Norah I haven't, but just about to start and bastard battery is dying so going to finish my coffee and then retire to bed with phone on charge and read the WHOLE lot from the beginning.

FancyFancy · 15/06/2015 21:05

You should go read it yourself norah, it's taken about that many years off me

LetUsPrey · 15/06/2015 21:17

Was waiting for DS1 at his sports thing so I didn't think that was the best place to read it, especially as there was lack of HBI. Honestly what's the point of me going to pick him up?

I shall eat my dinner and then wander over

Baddz · 15/06/2015 21:24

Norah...my sister text and had gone to bed feeling ill so no GofT for me tonight Sad

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/06/2015 21:37

Am eating my tea.

Comtess yes - the actual bees will actually provide actual honey this year (unlike the past two years when the lazy little feckers have produced none and then died over winter out of sheer spite (ignoring the stores of food I provided for them since they hadn't bothered making their own honey) One hive is pretty much ready to harvest, but the other isn't, and it's such a messy job that I'm waiting for both to be ready. Which reminds me - I need to order more wax foundation.

Issy that's a lovely jacket. I have a tweed scarf from Harris (or it might have been Lewis) which is lovely and warm but itchy as anything

I want to watch GoT too but DH is out at a school meeting, so I'd better wait for him. Read an article where the writers pointed out that stannis has been burning people since the start but no-one complained until he burnt Shireen (we might have put the player on fast forward for that bit) Confused

Right, I need to buy bee stuff...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/06/2015 22:15

Oh look - I killed the thread! Excellent. Hmm

Well I've just watched the Clangers (doesn't seem as good as the original) and now I've going to bed.

Night all.

comtesse hope you had a good stretch. No, I didnt get to do yoga today cos of having to see my mum off. Dp got home and we've been having a long good talk about all manner of stuff including ageing parents and what to do about them.

Basically my mum is lonely since she's on her own now and she wants to move in with us. I feel bad but Im pretty sure she'd drive me mad. She is waving the carrot of "you'd have enough money to buy a really decent place if I sold up and came in with you." She is really not that old and physically and mentally fine. She is a bit batty and not much practical help though. Argh.

LaComtess · 15/06/2015 22:50

Hey wenchi

I'm back from spin and yoga. Felt a bit sick after spin it was that manic, yoga has soothed nicely.

I've just listened to the Tom play TWICE as I couldn't hear it that well in the car. OMFG. Apes try it again. Once it gets into the second half it is basically a Burke monologue. There's a shouty bit which made my stomach flip a bit in joy. I know how much you love a shouty Tom. I think it's fucking brilliant.

Funniest thing on the Iplayer version is Woman's hour woman after it going on that they're talking about women's Viagra tomorrow. Hshahahaha TOM BURKE is Viagra for women, how didn't they know this? Hahahaha.

Helen I think that's amazing to have your own honey.

Does a shoulder stand for Madame.

Now. I'm all revved up on Rhe deliciousness of Tom. Time for the snuggery I feel.... Especially as letus thought it looked inappropriate. Excellent.

LaComtess · 15/06/2015 22:51

Wicked - did you manage to get the R4 link to work? Ive retweeted one on Twatter if you need to try again.

FancyFancy · 15/06/2015 22:52

Mm, tricky madame. I can't say I'd be too happy with a parent moving in, it'd drive me mad too. Different if it's the only option, but this doesn't sound like it is. Would she be happy just moving closer to you? Would you be happy with that? Grin

LetUsPrey · 15/06/2015 23:03

I've just been in The Snug.

Just as well I didn't read that earlier, and definitely just as well no HBI Grin

Night wenches x

IssyStark · 15/06/2015 23:08

Right off to bed to re-read stuff in the Snug. Managed to cover the grey (and one of the towels - oops) and do a quick skim read when it deserved much more Grin

Glad the pinkness met approval. It is one of my most successful charity shop finds long before Vintage was in vogue (still think longingly about the 1950s midnight blue duchess satin ball gown that I passed on in Manchester in 1992 as it was 'too big' and 'when would I wear it?' - how young and foolish I was).

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/06/2015 23:17

madame if you pooled money together could you get a property with a separate granny fly/ cottage?

My mate is just having to bring his DM over to live with him. I don't know what I'll do in, well, 10 to 15 years time with my DM.

MMMOOOORRRRRNNNIIIIINNNGGGGGGGG. FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKEEEEEERRRRRSSSSSSSSSZZZZZZZZ

HOPE EVERYINE IS OK TODAY AND IF YOURE OFF OUT, HWVE A GOOD DAY MOI LOVVVUUURRRRRRR. Ooooops didn't mean to shout that bit but it stays now.

Oh badz and helen even though I knew. Even though I was horrified and gutted already about what happens, it was Sad Sad Sad. possibly because I'd only just started fancying him now he's a bit more manly and grown up and stuff < not at all shallow >

So. You liked the TavLit then? Says soooo much about the wenches that does.

LetUsPrey · 16/06/2015 07:53

Morning wenches. Glorious day here which means I'm already sneezing like a good 'un. Never mind, got my washing out.

Had a dream last night where I was getting married. To DH. Look subconscious I love him to bits, but there's a fairly long list of men who could have featured in that dream instead. Even worse, I was wearing my actual wedding dress! My brain didn't even give me a different dress.

Baddz · 16/06/2015 08:02

Madame.
I'm sure your mum is lovely.
But dont do it.
My mum ended up leaving Ireland where she and my dad were living and going to live with my grandmother temporarily to help out after she had an op.
She then got dx with Parkinson's. (I am convinced my dads family knew this btw)
So my mum ended up nursing a sick old woman, with 3 kids under 5.
I think it's what has caused her mh issues over the years. :(
And - I say this gently as it's something I have had to come to understand since dad died - you cannot be responsible for making your mum happy or providing her with a life.
I hope I haven't offended you, but generally speaking we are all living much longer than we did, and lots of elderly people end up with multiple health issues.
Norah...am watching today. I know what happens (have read the books) but my sister doesn't :(

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/06/2015 08:11

Thanks all and thanks bads, no of course youve not offended me! Flowers Its really helpful to hear that. Tbh I think we came to the same conclusion too - its not worth it if its going to make home life really stressful and awful.

Im totally late for work. Have good days all xxx

Enormouse · 16/06/2015 08:57

Morning

madame I'm with badders and fancy and the wiser wenches on this.
We had an extended family type arrangement with my grandparents living with us. I loved my grandparents with all my heart but towards the end, the decline and change in them was awful to live with on a day to day basis. My gran in particular suffered badly with dementia and became angry and paranoid. A completely different person. And all of this damaged family relationships quite a bit.

FolknNorah · 16/06/2015 09:11

wise words there baddersz it's fortunately not an issue for me as my mum doesn't speak to me and my dad..well he knows that won't be an option for him. He'll try if he needs to but it won't happen.
This is what happens when you put yourself and your other child above anything or anyone else you knob head. (him) Backed the wrong horse there eh? twat.

anyhoooooo. oh dear. I was expecting it and still didn't want it to happen, and was in denial. bit like oberyn. I've got you. Wink
