MadamedeChevreuse · 02/05/2015 20:03

mouse! V glad you found us. naughty kindle.

So the scottish wenches are royalists - interesting! I kind of assumed scottish people wouldnt be that keen for some reason. Do most scots like them then?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/05/2015 20:16

Two more by the bread Grin

MiladyBeaWinter · 02/05/2015 20:25

Mouse!

Ah, I just live up here Madame. Am English, though to be fair only by about 7 miles. Am a borderer me, we lived in England, DF always worked in Scotland and we have family dotted about both sides. Growing up I always self identified as British because as a child it was inconceivable that you wouldn't be part of both. Still do think that.

And I love a bit of history, tradition and pomp & circumstance. So etc

Lyndie · 02/05/2015 20:49

Well she's the Queen of Scotland too!! And you actually took our King so technically their line is Scottish!! And the rest.....

I wasn't massively keen on them as a yoof but I think they have changed a bit in recent years and they're here for good I suppose!! So whilst I won't be camping outside a hospital or anything I am ok with the Monarchy and I think Will and Kate will be good when their time comes.

Lyndie · 02/05/2015 20:50

And in Independent Scotland would keep her as Queen.......

MadamedeChevreuse · 02/05/2015 20:58

Really? An independent scotland would keep the royal family? well you learn something new every day. I didnt know that!

Fair enough scottish and border wench. maybe its just the english that hate them then? Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 02/05/2015 21:01

Not ALL english. Just some.

MiladyBeaWinter · 02/05/2015 21:10

25% according to the bloke from Republic who was on BBC News Live feed earlier. They pulled the live feed about 3 mins into what he was saying, I had to tab over to the BBC news coverage to hear the rest of it. That wasn't at all suspicious BBC Hmm

Baddz · 02/05/2015 21:10

Fucking love outlander! Jamie is Phwoar Shock
I am a republican
I believe hereditary privilege is wrong
But I wish the new parents well
Gorgeous baby Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/05/2015 21:17

Akshully, Lyndie I think you'll find that England didn't take your King, so much as he hot-footed it down to London as fast as he could once our Queen died and showed no interest on going back North.

Grin

Tea time now.... (bit late)
PS Mouse!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldnt give a shit that a woman had a baby, apart from if for any reason, it has an effect on how people decide to vote on thursday.

IssyStark · 02/05/2015 21:32

Humm, Ulster-born of Scots parents and I'm a royalist* but even I got fucked off at ITN's news this evening. It was the worst sort of 24hour news filler.

  • royalist in more of a Scandanavian sense (slimmed down etc etc) and def. against hereditary political or any other sort of privilege, just think a constitutional monarchy is better than an elected presidency as head of state given we have one in place already and hate to imagine a President Boris or similar. The number of non-executive presidents with any great presence is vanishing small, Mary Robinson is an exception not a rule.
MiladyBeaWinter · 02/05/2015 21:34

Well yes Helen, but then we chopped his sons head off (like his Mother's) and invented Republicanism. And later we deposed his grandson. Wasn't pretty Wink.

MiladyBeaWinter · 02/05/2015 21:41

President Boris Shock

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 02/05/2015 21:48

You just like Royal Babies and their Daddies Sparks.

I'm all about the honorary uncles.

FancyFancy · 02/05/2015 21:57

Evening

Thanks for putting the washing out mrsb

mouse!!!!!

Over the last couple of days I have developed a need to see shiny metal - my sinks are gleaming, kettle is descaled and the toaster polished. Being pre-menstrual is very odd Confused

BBC website has a clip of them leaving the hospital sparks - baby quite cute for a newborn & Kate looking lovely. As someone who bloated horribly after having a baby, I was Envy at her slim ankles.

FancyFancy · 02/05/2015 22:00

More than a week has passed since it was washed & FancyCat still refuses to sleep on her favourite blanket. She pointedly sleeps on my end of the sofa now Angry

MiladyBeaWinter · 02/05/2015 22:03

While we are (sort of) discussing politics, is anyone planning on pulling an all nighter to watch the election? We usually do, though to be fair to DH he has more stamina than me. He wakes me up at important stuff / seats, although the last memorable one was him being ecstatic when Portillo went, which tells you I've dozed through most of the last two. I did manage the referendum, and I reckon I would stay awake longer if their was wenching to be done?

MiladyBeaWinter · 02/05/2015 22:04

Is it PMT Fancy, or is it to do with armour? Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/05/2015 22:07

Night wenches Smile

Lyndie · 02/05/2015 22:09

MrsB I would stay up for the exit poll at 10pm but I'm working the next day so I'll set a super early alarm but I can't stay up all night!!

MiladyBeaWinter · 02/05/2015 22:14

Night WW

DH has taken the next day off work Hmm. I'll just do the usual caffeine and sleepwalk, but then to be fair lives don't depend on me like they do you.
