Have caught up a bit and wanted to say I am pleased miniMouse is getting some of the support he needs and things are looking up.

Badders - good luck with getting something. I think that working out the niche is important. Have you tried Gumtree for part time admin - you have to sift through A LOT of shit but that's where you find smaller local companies who want a couple of days or whatever. This has worked for me in the past, but there is lots available here as it is London wide but worth a look. I am sure you know what you are doing etc, but I work in the admin world and find it quite easy to get a job in spite of the fact that I have a sporadic work history due to contracting/temping a lot. I could take a look? Sorry if that sounds like I am trying to do something you are already doing.

MadamedeChevreuse · 24/04/2015 14:14

Argh Helen Flowers Wine poor you - think annes right though, these are normal phases and it will pass, esp following a chat and support from you.

A boy in ds's class seems to have a bit of a thing about (boys) bottoms and willies - we know this cos ds has complained about this boy pulling his and other boys' trousers down in the playground and punching them in the willy. dp then saw the kid doing this at a party. I told ds's teacher but she didnt seem that bothered. Hmm

Anyway what I mean is, though mortifying for us, its all clearly very common and normal.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/04/2015 14:16

Helen I wouldn't blame you if you did, concidering it Bads we're talking about here Wink

ApricotCrush · 24/04/2015 14:16

Helen, I'm sure it's just a phase he's going through.

Anne, that's great news, very happy for you. Thanks

MadamedeChevreuse · 24/04/2015 14:17

anne very very well done on finishing the big writing Star and congrats on the new job! Star Star Well exciting! When do you start?

I still havent heard from the monday interview, so it looks pretty clear that's not happening. Ah well.

BloodyElkFire · 24/04/2015 14:25

Madame Shock at the teacher not being bothered. That's ridiculous, (I'd be taking that further.)

Baddz · 24/04/2015 14:41

Congrats Anne! Star
Helen...it's a phase, honestly. Ds2 is 6 and he is very into girls clothes and likes to pretend to be a girl (he made me call him Ruth for 2 hours the other night!)
He is also slightly obsessed by my boobs ATM.
I think that this is the age that they suddenly realise that boys and girls are different. They are so inquisitive too, it's natural.
Im sure a little chat and everything will be fine x
I had Apple pie at ikea and bought a stool.
Dh is now doing the school run as my uterus is falling out and even my eyelashes hurt :(

AnneOfAramis · 24/04/2015 14:43

Tuesday after the BH. I am really really excited. Predictably, not heard back from potential boss at current place in spite of me calling him yesterday and today, texting him and then finally officially sending my notice. I feel relieved that I won't be working for him.

Madame - yes that needs addressing. But also yes to it being something that many appear to go through too. Fingers still crossed, sometimes the right people aren't around for the convo and that's what causes the delay.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/04/2015 15:02

Anne well if a resignation doesn't get an response then you certainly made the right choice.

School run...................

MadamedeChevreuse · 24/04/2015 15:05

Well, we know the teacher knew already, cos ds told me she'd put the kid on a time out when he did it in the classroom. I dunno, I keep checking with him that things are ok with that group of friends at school and things seem better for now. If he mentions it again I will definitely follow it up.

IssyStark · 24/04/2015 15:25

Doing book orders while listening to Mort. It's a hard life.

MadamedeChevreuse · 24/04/2015 16:00

Oh dear. Avengers press tour going from bad to worse.

lalalalalala...

mouse have you seen it yet?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/04/2015 16:39

In what way Madame?

FancyFancy · 24/04/2015 16:52

Afternoon, am feeling rather bleurggh today so have been spectacularly unproductive This is making me Angry as the DCs are off to the ex's for two nights and I had planned to be a green-fingered goddess, but now I can't be arsed.

helen, I think 6 is quite a normal age for getting curious about such things. Good luck with your talk.

congratulatory Flowers to anne, wonderful news and very well deserved. Grin

madame, it's a common complaint that no-one knows what the outcome of reporting such matters are. Confidentiality is so tight that you just won't know what the school are, or are not doing about it. It's a real conundrum as whilst the need for discretion is obvious, it can cause it's own problems.

ChaiseLounger · 24/04/2015 16:57

Well done Anne. Handing in your dissertation sure is a really nice feeling.

These things are so tricky aren't they Helen? Ds2 currently doesn't want to get changed for pe because he doesn't want anyone to see his boxers. Seems odd. Why are 6 year olds even commenting on others boxers? Apparently 3 other boys said the same thing, so said the mums at the party we went to on sunday. But then I decided this in particular was minor and dismissed it.
These things are a bit odd though, aren't they?

FancyFancy · 24/04/2015 16:59

Great. DS seems to have finally realised how close his exams are & now doesn't want to go to the ex's this weekend. I know he missed quite a bit of schoolwork this week because of being ill, but that wouldn't have mattered so much had he not left revision to the last minute. Like he always does.

So now I have him all weekend, DD until tomorrow after lunch & ex for lunch tomorrow. Sunday afternoon is booked to help at a school fair.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 24/04/2015 17:53

Am on Bellini made with 2 week old prosecco & peach juice out of a tin of peaches?? and have sent DS1 to chippie. #classywench

ChaiseLounger · 24/04/2015 18:09

Oh sparks that sounds desperate. Double the next proseco tesco order!

I am home alone. DH just taken boys out. I am being picked up in an hour, by my 2 'musketeer' friend from across the road, to go to a school quiz, it's quite nice - delicious curry and tonnes of wine supplied , plus entry to quiz, £10!

LaComtess · 24/04/2015 18:28

I'm orf to my book group in a bit so could be squiffy Comtess later.

Teenwolf you say? Grin

Star well done Anne Star

FancyFancy · 24/04/2015 18:28

Grin sparks. If I actually had an appetite this evening, I'd be down the chippie too. I still feel bleurgh & had planned on marmite on toast for dinner, but now I have the DCs to feed too & suspect they may not be very impressed with that.

chaise that sounds like a lovely evening, have fun.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 24/04/2015 18:41

Bummer re dinner Fancy Angry

Chaise I have other bottles...I just wanted to finish off the open one first Grin

ApricotCrush · 24/04/2015 18:46

Have a good evening Chaise and Comtess.

FancyFancy · 24/04/2015 18:52

It is sparks. Now it's not an option, it seems even more appealing. I'm imagining hot buttery toast spread with marmite at this moment & it seems like the tastiest thing in the world.

Well apart from
