My DH is genuinely upset. We are both huge fans of his books

I hope however he died it was a kind death for him. I know he had dementia but that of itself rarely is the cause of death

Gutted

Devastated. I can honestly say that would I really look forward to November when he would generally release a new book. He brought endless hours of pleasure into my life.

Thank you Terry and RIP.

I've just told DH. We knew it was coming and too soon but what a terrible shock nonetheless. We're reading Dragons Of Crumbling Castle to dd atm. We have a library of Pratchett just awaiting her readiness to read it.

Such sad news. What a wonderful body of work he leaves behind.

'DON'T THINK OF IT AS DYING' said Death. 'JUST THINK OF IT AS LEAVING EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH'.

His poor family and poor Rob Sad.

livefastlove · 12/03/2015 15:22

RIP Terry. I met him once at a book signing. He was a wonderful writer, very funny and insightful.

WitchOfEndor · 12/03/2015 15:22

Gutted, he was my favourite author ever since I read Wyrd Sisters as a child. He was the only one I would always buy the hardback book because I couldnt wait for the psperback to come out.

MisAnneThropy · 12/03/2015 15:23

Oh no, I never read any of his books but saw his incredibly moving documentary. He was so witty and highly intelligent and my thoughts are with his family.

Thumbwitch · 12/03/2015 15:23

I have Dragons of Crumbling Castle awaiting me at my Dad's when I get to the UK in 2 weeks' time. It will be especially poignant reading it now.

So so sad that there won't be any more from him. Truly heartbroken. :(

RunningInTheCorridors · 12/03/2015 15:23

Very sad. I love the Discworld series.

daisychain01 · 12/03/2015 15:23

His wonderful humour will live on in all his fantastic books - what a legacy to leave us! RIP TP

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 12/03/2015 15:24

Oh no. Sad. He will be sorely missed. I am glad he is no longer suffering from the 'embuggerance', but sad that the world has lost an inspired and funny author.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 12/03/2015 15:24

A sad day. His books have cheered me up through some tough times. My thoughts are with his family. Sad

geekymommy · 12/03/2015 15:25

Oh no! Sad

PeaceOfWildThings · 12/03/2015 15:26

You're right of course, SurelyYoureJoking he certainly gave the embuggerance as good a kick up the arse as he could.

His writing and his humour have become a part of us and I've found the way it pops up all over the internet makes forums like this a more accessible place.
