Licences - some advice please!!! I have been lucky so far that DD has not been of school age and so taking time out has not been an issue. Speaking to one agent, I remarked that her pre-school were fine about her taking time off, to which I was told that I should not mention to the school at all about her having time off for modelling as most jobs did not obtain licences, due to the fact that they can take 2 weeks to process and there isn't usually that much time. Has anyone else come across this? I'm not sure I'm that comfortable about lying to the school, particularly when I had already asked the question and they said that it was fine for her to have time off, it would be included in the discretional allowance for holidays they allot. My brain hurts - I'll phone our local council tomorrow to check what requirements they have and how long licences take to process, but right now I'm confused so any help would be appreciated!! ("confused emoticon")

kerryarron · 12/10/2006 20:18

I thought that they could be fined if they didn't?! Which agency told you that?

mysonsmummy · 12/10/2006 20:34

kerry - why would someone have a grudge against BK? what family are you talking about? i can write about my experiences with BK wherever i like as every word of it is true. why would raga make that up about a friend - i am sure she will tell us if her friend moved house and changed her no. and e-mail address? if they have nothing better to do than read these sites well - or was it you that rang them to tell them to read it?

housemum · 12/10/2006 20:35

Rather not say - never know who's reading etc

housemum · 12/10/2006 20:36

(That was in reply to kerry's question by the way re agencies & licences)

Tinkerbel5 · 12/10/2006 20:37

housemum I was told that aswell, the reason I think is because some of the jobs are only confirmed the night before and there isnt time to get a license.

kerryarron · 12/10/2006 20:49

Because Debi said that she spoke to the family in question and the woman wasn't happy about it being posted!!

Also, I'm sure they have plenty to do!

ellesmum · 12/10/2006 20:50

kerryarron - it was so obviously u who rang them and told them what had been said on this site, how the hell would they have known otherwise?

if your allowed to talk about your good experiences with bk why cant anyone mention their bad experiences with them?

kerryarron · 12/10/2006 20:51

I phoned them as I was concerned it was true!

I never said it wasn't me, they are my agency so I have every right to phone them with my worries!

lanismum · 12/10/2006 20:53

lets not get into another row over bizzykids eh? no point, some kids do well with them, some dont, same as with ANY agency, there will always be kids that get work and other that dont.

lanismum · 12/10/2006 20:54

look at me being all diplomatic

kerryarron · 12/10/2006 20:54

I agree, I don't want any rows - I like coming on mumsnet!

lanismum · 12/10/2006 20:55

good

Tinkerbel5 · 12/10/2006 20:57

Im going to be warey of what I post on here incase it gets reported back to an agency, not that I post much anyway, but even so

Tinkerbel5 · 12/10/2006 21:00

ladette to lady is on now on ITV1 if anyone watches it

lanismum · 12/10/2006 21:00

just turned it over, should be a laugh!

ellesmum · 12/10/2006 21:05

dont want a row just saying, just dont like the thought of someone spying on what we are talking about, we should be able to express our views if we want.

ellesmum · 12/10/2006 21:06

saw your lanis pic on bounty shes really cute!

mysonsmummy · 12/10/2006 21:32

isnt it strange that lots of agencies get slagged off on here but it is only bizzykids that people report back too. err.. and its always same old story i rang to let them know FFS debi oh sorry i mean kerry.

cyan · 12/10/2006 21:48

gosh this is why i cant be bpthered to post on here as much anymore, it gets so boring the same old rows and crap just a different day.

sorry to be harsh but its true, why cant the whole BK crap be laid to rest, who cares about it? if u do why not read the archives and stop clogging up the rest of the thread fgs. its like a bloody broken record.

god its obvious ive had a long day writing stories about the joys of living in southwark. lanismum, it certainly gives hackney a run for its money!!!
