morning guys- dylansmummy, riley is 14 months, he is just not a happy chappy at the minute, he is usually always laughting smiling, and playing games, but at the moment, he is miserable, moany clingy, and just wants cuddles !! his teeth are really hurting him, and its just horrible, nothing i am doing or giving him is making him any happier! poor little chappy, he would be good if they want a unhappy baby model ,lol,,,

ellesmum · 11/10/2006 10:50

yummy - thats a shame would have been nice to see her doing some kiks and punches! you never know they may still use her pics.

ragga - thats really bad about bizzy kidz do they not have phones!!! how stupid doing it all by email, is your friend going to get her £90 one off fee back from them??

hope she gets in with urban angels.

ellesmum · 11/10/2006 10:52

mimi - poor riely! hope he feels better soon

JenumGeranium · 11/10/2006 10:54

Hiya

I am new to all this and would just like some advice really. I applied to Models Direct and another agency online yesterday, I have heard back from Models Direct who seem interested but there is just this niggling voice in my head - they are asking for a fee of £130! Is this normal practice for an agency? Also which agencies do you use and which ones do you recommend?

TIA

mimi1uk · 11/10/2006 10:56

thanks ellesmummy, he had this before when his front ones came and now its the back ones, i just cannot wait to get my riley back , bless him,

trace2 · 11/10/2006 10:56

keep away from models direct, look at

cm.net

mimi1uk · 11/10/2006 10:57

jenum, - avoid models direct they are welll knowwn to be a scam, so good agencies, are bruce and brown, urban angels, kids london, mot junior, and there are quite a few more, have a look a childmodelling.net

julie4travel · 11/10/2006 11:06

JenumGeranium - look at www.albamodel.info and it says scam agencies etc on their. i believe models direct is listed, thank god you haven;t sent any money off! some agencies do charge fees the top ones take money from the first job such at b and b etc. look on cm net for a list of agencies where parents have rated them. Good luck

JenumGeranium · 11/10/2006 11:09

Thanks everyone!

Off to have a scout through the websites!

mythumbelinas · 11/10/2006 11:18

Jenumgeranium, yes, can't echo enough to stay away from MD. It's awful when you hear so many people apply to them not knowing.

Cyan, no, didn't see your ds in the Asda mag or the xmas guide. Job was done recently, so maybe next month's issue.

Ellesmum, have emailed you back

I'm going out now (don't feel so well tho) but i have to get out of the house now i have my car back!! need to shop .. and i'll be on the lookout for in-store pics and posters

mrsratty · 11/10/2006 11:20

I wish I had a car as I really feel the need to go out somewhere different! With DD at school there is only so far I can get before turning around to pick her up. I can't wait for half term.

Ragamuffin · 11/10/2006 11:23

Yummy.....Poster for C&G was taken outside. Blonde/fair-haired lad who was definately over 2....if not closer to 3?? Great Karate Kick! Saw the poster outside our local ASDA when I went in to pick up their free mag. Maybe they will still use her as the girl doing punches indoors to make it different. Will be on the look out still.

JenumGeranium · 11/10/2006 11:29

Thanks mythumbelinas! I applied to MD as it was very easy to do so over the internet, so I wonder if this is why so many people apply to them. They make you feel as if you are very lucky to have been picked. They are getting back to me tomorrow, but I will be ready for them!

mrsratty · 11/10/2006 11:31

I wonder if Debbie Mcgee is getting any work for her models. I read the latest news on her website and can't understand what they are doing, maybe it's me or maybe they have worded it badly! I really don't see people taking it seriously!

mrsratty · 11/10/2006 11:32

JenumGeranium - You can apply to most online, Kids London is the only one I can think of that only accept postal applications. How old is your child?

JenumGeranium · 11/10/2006 11:36

Oh really? I didnt know that - I spose I just found a couple and applied (should have shopped around - I know now!)

I have 2 boys aged 7 and 4.

Who are you registered with?

mrsratty · 11/10/2006 11:40

My daughter is with bruce and brown, she's five. Try Bruce and brown, urban angels, MOT and kids london as a starting point as they are the best and have the lowest starting fees. Other agencies also get work but these seem to be the most used ones. Good luck.

ellesmum · 11/10/2006 11:58

dylans and mimi, have you tried biccypegs? not sure i have spelt it right, but they are like erm, sort of dog biscuits but for babies (honestly!)and they just chew on them and they seem to get the teeth to cut quicker? you prob already have them, but they used to help lani loads, especially with her side fangs

mimi1uk · 11/10/2006 12:56

Thumbs......think i saw your dd pic in m&s today. Did she do a shoot wearing a thing round her head???

dylansluckymum · 11/10/2006 13:21

lanismum i've seen them but i haven't tried them. the look kind of put me off to be honest but if they work then i'll def give them a go. i just had a look and it's broken through all the way across now but it's quite crooked i guess it came through the path of least resistance. he's a bit better now but he sure wants to sleep loads. having 2 hour naps!

mimi the poor pooch! lol. ds hasn't quite started torturing the cat yet but i can see the glint in his eye when he looks at him. only a matter of time!! really hope it comes through soon. x
