Having re-read The Half Blood Prince last week, I think he is on the right side, but no-one agrees with me! Anyone else sad enough to have an opinion on this?

Ooh thanks Alexsmum, Dumbledore deffo gone then! When I saw Ginny in first film I thought she, perhaps intentionally, looked like Harrys mum! So, I agree they were intended from the start, but expats got me thinking on the harry/hermione route now

Hmmmm, nothing on the rumours page about the goodie or baddy status of Snape...

imnot27 · 28/09/2006 12:12

Does anyone think that Dumbledore may be related to Harry in some way. He has always been very protective.

CheesyFeet · 28/09/2006 12:13

Is Harry a horcrux?

imnot27 · 28/09/2006 12:14

aaronsmum, says on link they are not related in any way. Has anyone read the poll on right hand column of the mugglenet link, about the cloak?

OP posts:
imnot27 · 28/09/2006 12:16

Ohmygod Harry IS a horcrux! Yes, you are so right! V had just killed Lily, then put bit of his soul in Harry because he couldn't kill him! Wow, that's a great theory!

OP posts:
alexsmum · 28/09/2006 12:16

also lookhere

expatinscotland · 28/09/2006 12:16

Dumby's NOT related to HP.

He was a sort of father figure to him.

That's it.

I can't see where anyone thought they were related.

I think Narcissa is going to get involved w/Snape now her man's banged up and piss a lot of people off.

WHY would Voldemort put a bit of his soul in Harry when he was obviously going to kill him, and even said the curse to kill him?

alexsmum · 28/09/2006 12:17

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! harry is a horcrux? don't be daft!

hockeymum · 28/09/2006 12:18

look at this page of muggle net about possible couples:

couples

imnot27 · 28/09/2006 12:18

Maybe he put soul in after he had tried, and failed, to kill harry, as felt powers fading? I dunno!

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 28/09/2006 12:19

i thought it was hagrid that died in next book?

Have also started re reading from the 1st one

imnot27 · 28/09/2006 12:22

Maybe Hagris is the one she thought would stay but she had to kill? he is a major character

OP posts:
FillyjonktheBananaEater · 28/09/2006 12:22

did it not tell us in the book that harry was a horocrux?

i kind of assumed he was.

otherwise it will be a let down

he is obviously going to die at the end of book 7

also-not sure about neville. hmm.. the kind of philosophy behind the books is you are what you make yourself...dunno...but maybe the experience neville/harry have had is what they need for neville to fulfil the prophecy.

I agree that Snape is on the side of Truth and Light.

imnot27 · 28/09/2006 12:24

Fillyjonk stop being so optimistic about it all!

OP posts:
CheesyFeet · 28/09/2006 12:25

I agree imnot27, I think he realised that Harry wasn't going to die so he made him a horcrux as Harry was the only thing near enough to put the sixth piece of his soul into before the curse backfired. IMHO the final twist is that Harry has to die for Voldemort to be defeated.

alexsmum · 28/09/2006 12:27

about the neville thing-got to jkrowling .com and go to faq and read what she says about neville. very interesting.

harry is NOT a horcrux.

imnot27 · 28/09/2006 12:27

Crikey Cheesy, I reallllly want next book to come out, but am kinda dreading reading it now if everyone, including HP is going to die! Will be bloodbath!

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 28/09/2006 12:28

Nope, he didn't realise Harry wasn't going to die.

He didn't have time to react when the curse bounced back at him, and that's why his powers were shattered.

lilibet · 28/09/2006 12:30

I think that in the final book Snape will die saving Harry from something to prove that he has had his best interests at heart all along.

He has to be a goodie!

And Harry and Hermione is just plain wrong. Ginny won't die, how can she kill her off after he has lost everyone else he has loved?

expatinscotland · 28/09/2006 12:30

I don't think Harry would find death unwelcome.

Remember, Rowling herself has admitted her own issues surrounding how she felt about death - particularly after losing her mother at a relatively young age - has manifested itself in her books.

Writing, of course, can be a powerful way of dealing w/your troubles. It's a mode of personal expression, naturally.

CheesyFeet · 28/09/2006 12:34

We'll have to agree to disagree about Horcruxes I think

Expat, I agree about writing being an outlet for your troubles - I write a lot about my own life (not published though) and I find it amazingly cathartic. Prehaps I should find a way of weaving it into fiction and make my millions
