More Harry Potter- Does anyone else think Snapes a goodie?

Having re-read The Half Blood Prince last week, I think he is on the right side, but no-one agrees with me! Anyone else sad enough to have an opinion on this?

Going back to the legends/myths background to the story, you've overlooked the most obvious one of all.

The bible.

(Narnia, LOTR etc all borrow heavily from it.)

So - either DD or Harry are Jesus, thus must die in act of defeating Voldy, then be miraculously re-born. If it is DD, could Snape be Judas? (which would make him a bad guy, then desperate at his error - suicide/turn to good side?) Though i think t will be Harry.

If Harry is Jesus, then JKR can complete the series by magically ascending him to heaven (or the wizarding equivalent - not sure what this is), thus preventing any one cashing in by writing a follow-up.

Whaddya think?

can only say that I hope it doesnt go that way.
I thought the Jesus/Aslan figure was Dumbledore - and I liked him a lot better than the saintly lion. But does JKR have to push the comparison to the extent of the death/ascending to heaven thing? something which many people find unacceptable in Christianity.

I didn't mean literally ascending to heaven, just putting him to a plce 'beyond use' IYKWIM.

I agree dd is the more likely Jesus figure.

My 15yo ds and 15yo dn say that ron and hermione are going to have ginger babies and harry and ginny are going to have ginger babies.
Seeing as Harry is a horcrux (ie carrying the sins of the world in his scar) then when he finishes off V he probably loses his scar and all his magical powers and becomes a squib, so no more Harry potter the wizard stories. so he ascends to muggle heaven

Well that's what book6 is all about, making us think that Snape is the Judas character. So does that make Harry John the Baptist, destined to spread the gospel and unite muggles and magicals ready to fight at the armageddon?

noticed summat odd

the sorting hat refers to something like when "we" founded the school. or similar,

am wondering if the sorting hat is a horcrux.

and increasingly feel harry's scar is a horcrux, reading bk 5, will try to post quotes.

snape is not harry's father, he calls lily a mudblood.

aw heck, everythings a horcrux. you, me, filch... roll up, roll up, get your horcruxes here.

aarg there was someone I thought was important but overlooked, who was it now...

sorry if already discussed, but who is the mysterious person who stole the locket horcrux? who has a surname beginning with B? If JK said there are to be no new characters, then we must already know them,

think I read on JK's last interview that she said DD was definitely dead. (finished rereading last night and cried again )

Regulus Black? Amelia Bones? Have forgotten all the stuff about the locket, must read book 6 again.

Didn't the sorting hat belong to one of the founders? He would have been there at the founding anyway.

Snape calling Lily a Mudblood was just cover for the fact that he is one too.

Re the locket and RAB, see my post further down. No don't bother, I have copied it for you:
I am not saying I am definitely right about RAB being Sirius' brother, but his name was Regulus Black, and there is a locket in Grimmauld Place that no-one knows anything about (re-read the scene in Order of the Phoenix where they are spring cleaning Grimmalud Place and you will see it mentioned - very throwaway comment though). Of course, at the moment, we are supposed to believe that Sirius' brother was a Death Eater, but we also know he died at Voldemort's hands (or at V's bidding anyway) and why would that happen if some double crossing/betrayal hadn't taken place? You mark my words: RAB is Regulus Black and the horcrux is in Grimmauld Place and Regulus was not on the side he appeared to be on.

I don't remember anything about Aberforth but it would be nice if a friendly dumbledore type person came on the scene. And how come all the teachers are single?

I reckon aberforth will have a part in bk 7. But there is a difficulty with his fondness for goats, is there not? How will that be explained? Seeing as how its a children's book, at least nominally...

on the JKR website, what are you supposed to type when it asks for your student identification number? . It's the equivalent of not being able to get the lid of your pen isn't it!

if you did an exma (either the grade 1 or grade 2 wombat) you will have beemn given a student ID number at the end of it. Thats what you need to type in

DG, i haven't commented on Aberfoirth because i don't fully remember him! Am in the middle of Goblet of Fire (rereading all of them) so will comment when i reach him!!

Aberforth is mentioned (not by name) when harry has the meeting for Dumbledores Army in the pub. I am sure Aberforth is the barman there. Look for the clues!

ooh and also Voldemort was making 7 horcruxes when dark wizards would normally only make one. So harrys mothers love saved Harry but Voldemort screwed himself by dividing himself too many times making too many horcruxes....
