More Harry Potter- Does anyone else think Snapes a goodie?

Having re-read The Half Blood Prince last week, I think he is on the right side, but no-one agrees with me! Anyone else sad enough to have an opinion on this?

I dont think Sirius will come back as much as Harry does need someone (have to say that I was more devastated by Dumbledores death than Sirius' - numbed into not rereading until now, inspired by my good friend Rosylily!) but I think its built up now to Harry on his own against Voldemort (Im not afraid) so we think theres no way he can win cos theres no DD to save the day. THeres going to be some almighty twists in that last and hopefully long book.

What will life be like without another HP book to look forwardto?

Hey cornmeadow! I have to consult you on changing names, can't work out how to do it! Anyway I'm just stirring the pot suggesting Dd could be Snapes Dad not convinced myself though it would help the Dd trusting Snape thing. And it would be juicy for Dd to have some mischief in his past!
However I am still pretty convinced that Harry is a horcrux though! And the more I reread the more convinced I get....

Snape's dad was a muggle though, he's the half-blood prince isnt he? Maybe his mum did something naughty and DD bailed out the both of them, that's why he owes DD his total allegiance. Ooh ooh, maybe the only reason Snape was a deatheater was because Voldemort threatened his mum and then DD saved her!
Maybe Filch is Snape's dad?

did you take the exam recently filly?

If you did, go back to JKR's website., There is a card on the desk with wombat on it. click that and it will take you to the place where you have to put your ID code in

whats the deal with Crookshanks? does anyone know? He (she?) isn't in the films much but is very clever in the books. I know he isn't an animagus but surely its not just a clever cat?

Cornmeadow, there was a door which usually doesn't open but it opened recently and you could go in and do the exam. Which I did (and hadn't a clue!) then I must have taken my number down incorrectly cuz now I can't get my results it doesn't recognise my number. humph.

Cupsnakes...I'm with you about DD. Glad you mentioned it cos I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed the light come out of DD's funeral pyre. Apart from Harry of course.

Rosylily...a pheonix doesn't have a mummy and daddy.

DD's girl...Ummmmmmm. If jkr has snape as harry's father I will be SAD. Let her know before it's too late.

also, going with the theory that dd is an animagus, can u lie in a state of death for that long b4 u 'turn'? What i mean is, they must have tried everything magical they could to get dd back so surely if he was an animagus one of the things they tried would have worked?

Ok OK Snape and Harry are not related. I know when I am on to a loser! But I think there is a connection of some sort between them which has not yet been revealed - not blood connection maybe, but some emotional tie or something.

What does anyone make of the part Dumbledore's brother is to play in Book 7? Aberforth was supposed to be a member of the Order of the Phoenix but he hasn't been introduced yet. Surely he is the barman at the pub in Hogsmead? I have even read some speculation (I don't believe) that it was he who died, not Albus Dumbledore. What does anyone make of him?

what is it with squibs and cats. i mean filch is a squid and mrs norris spies for him. the mad old lady in harrys street is a squib and has lots of cats spying on harry for her.

This thread has grown again while i was away.

In relation to DD's girl theoryabiout Snape being Harry dad ....., er no, i don't think so, but you can certainly register it as your theory. I'm 99% certain i read somewhere that the fact that Lily was good at charms comes to the fore in book 7. However it is entirely possible that i dreamt it. A lot is made of Harry being like James, however, the comment is always followed by "Except the eyes, he has his mother's eyes". Which are green. We are told this information on a regular basis - usually every time Harry meets someone new, so it must be important

It would be great if Dd came back somehow but it seems that only cowards and baddies refuse to accept death and become ghosts or make horcruxes. But if Dd came back for purely selfless reasons it could fit in. The phoenix idea might be right but it starts again as a baby so thats why I wonder how it would work for Dd? Cuz his body is gone.
The connection between Harry and snape could come down to their mutual love for Dd? But Harry blames Snape for everything so how will he ever change his mind???

A phoenix would reach adulthood quicker than a human so in a few months(?) years (?) he could switch to human adult form, all sprightly and handsome
But JKR replied to one interviewer who asked if DD was coming back "you've been watching too much Star Wars." I think there'll be some proof of everlasting life after death in the last book etc but not in a tangible way, more like Dust in the Northern Lights trilogy.
It would be nice to see Harry get a new family member / guardian in the last book but I think it will be all rites of passage, becoming a man etc and will end with him and Ginny together, maybe a flashforward to their son Albus who is already showing magical powers.

I don't know why BBD, but your picture of Ginny and Harry gazing fondly at their own little Albus as he flicks his wand and makes his pooey nappy clean again, makes me want to throw up! I am not sure that sort of happy ending could be tolerated!
