I know he has lots of admirers on here

V sorry to hear about RH and YG's husband. Shocked also at moondog's comment but I doubt she meant that comment sincerely. She was making a statement intended to shock and is too stubborn to retract it (probably even slightly enjoying the controversy it caused). However, if (and I really hope he pulls through)the worst was to happen, I doubt she would be jumping for joy.

NotAnOtter · 21/09/2006 00:41

yeah i dont think she meant it - she is a good girl moony !

munz · 21/09/2006 08:25

just heard the news - not a TG fan myself but DH loves it - I don't mind looking (ogling) at RH, and admireing the look of the cars. (always comment to DH about how much of a short arse RH is compared to JC - either that or JC is a giant! lol.

today's update is looking more positive thou for him - surely having pain in his lower back must be a good sign? (althou obviously not the pain - oh u understand it's good he can feel something as opposed to nothing.

and i'm sorry but the comments MD made were not flippant. everyone has a right to their opinion but in such a sensitive time nothing would have been better said than those comments.

trinityshiftingherleatheryarse · 21/09/2006 08:27

I didn't know who he was from the name but now I've seen the link and know who your talking about

gosh, I hope he's ok

Mascaraohara · 21/09/2006 09:28

He is stable, still rooting for him..

if he has pain in his lower back, he must be conscious and communicating, no???

CheesyFeet · 21/09/2006 09:39

Someone in the office has just said that he's improving

sockmonkey · 21/09/2006 10:03

Poor RH and his family. What an awful thing to happen. I hope he makes a full recovery for the sake of his family. We are big hammond fans in this house, and have been really upset by the news.

southeastastra · 21/09/2006 10:06

i wonder what moondog said! he was trying to break the land speed record. these things happen if you do things like that

themoon66 · 21/09/2006 10:16

Southeastastra... she said something very mean and nasty and totally unnecessary. I don't want to repeat it tbh. But if Mrs Hammond is a MN-er or Yorkiegirl read it they would be very hurt.

2shoes · 21/09/2006 10:20

YG did read it and was hurt
can't understand how any one can say something like that on here
How can people defend her there is no defence it was out of order

any news on Richard?

biglips · 21/09/2006 11:07

oh no my favourite guy any news??

UrsulatheSeaWitch · 21/09/2006 11:08

"improving but remains seriously ill" - his family has asked for no other details to be released.

SaintGeorge · 21/09/2006 11:08

Some slight improvement overnight, now described as serious but stable condition.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 21/09/2006 17:19

Just seen a ticker on the BBC website to say that he suffered "significant brain injury" [frown] and another website that already has the story says doctors are "reasonably optimistic he will make a good recovery"

hulababy · 21/09/2006 17:20

Wonder what significant brain injury means? Doesn't sound good

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 21/09/2006 17:21

That was my thoughts too and "reasonably optismistic" doesn't sound great either.

Mascaraohara · 21/09/2006 17:24

None of those phrases sound good.

southeastastra · 21/09/2006 17:26

he only had the accident yesterday, it'll take ages for him to get well poor bloke

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 21/09/2006 17:28

\link{http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_yorkshire/5367616.stm/updated story} the dad doesn't sound too hopeful

LIZS · 21/09/2006 17:30

. Probably too early to tell but getting through a day so far is surely positive in itself. His father is reported as saying "At the moment we are not sure if he is going to live or die. His children are very confused," Heartbreaking

hulababy · 21/09/2006 17:30

Think his dad sounds like he is preparing himself, just in case.

Hopefully the doctors are just being cautious at this stage. It is going to be a long, slow recovery I suspect.

Quadrophenia · 21/09/2006 17:41

as someone who has worked in Brain injury I would honestly be very suprised if he made a full recovery, I am feeling incredibly

zippitippitoes · 21/09/2006 17:43

I'm afraid i feel very pessimistic as someone who experienced this wait for a recovery from devastating brain injury I feel great sorrow for his family, saying prayers for them.
