I can't put binbags in my wheeliebin, because there might be maggots in the bottom of it and they might be forced airborne by the pressure of me dropping a bag, and they might land on me and crawl inside me. somehow.

jalopy · 13/09/2006 20:27

Hedge trimmers. My mind goes into overdrive when I see one being used.

HuwEdwards · 13/09/2006 20:29

Colditz, get a grip you weirdy

liath · 13/09/2006 20:29

Don't like phoning people, especially strangers so hate ordering takeaways etc. Thank God for email.

Don't like going up escalators much either, feel like I'm going to get sucked into them at the top.

chestnutter · 13/09/2006 20:33

Ride a bike . Just can't do it.

lucy5 · 13/09/2006 20:33

i'm not very keen on bird shows, where there is the possibility that they might land on your head. I'm not keen on walking through a load of chickens either.

scotchick · 13/09/2006 20:34

as one does, lucy

southeastastra · 13/09/2006 20:35

haha lucy!

niceglasses · 13/09/2006 20:36

I get the wheelie bin thing - I have the same with slugs on the bottom of my recycling bin which means I have to scrape it along the grass to get the slugs off and then run with it at arms length to the bottom of the path in case they fall on my feet.

FrayedKnot · 13/09/2006 20:36

Lighting candles.

How long to leave the match burning for before you blow it out.

crazydazy · 13/09/2006 20:38

Jimmy spinners - they are everywhere and creepy.

harpsichordcarrier · 13/09/2006 20:39

oh yes riding a bike
cooking fried eggs
flipping pancakes

Blondilocks · 13/09/2006 20:41

Walk down the street late at night if there's a helicopter outside! For some reason the noise freaks me out when it's dark.

southeastastra · 13/09/2006 20:44

is a jimmy spinner a daddy long legs?

colditz · 13/09/2006 20:44

Oh God slugs,,, slugs give me palpitations, when they fall off things and just lie there looking... sluggy

They might get on my toes, and if I ever trod on one I really do thing I might die.

bosscat · 13/09/2006 20:44

definitely driving places where I don't know and I have to do this about 8 times a week. I bought a tomtom in the sales at new year though and I want to marry it

granarybeck · 13/09/2006 20:44

flying, driving on motorways and spiders, in that order!

colditz · 13/09/2006 20:45

It's my mother's fault for letrting me read H.P.Lovecraft when I was 9.

Mercy · 13/09/2006 20:46

Oh liath, I don't like open steps/stairs for the same reason. I can go down them, but not up.

Agree, that is a bit of an odd one colditz. But sympathies none the less.

jalopy · 13/09/2006 20:50

The car breaking down, especially on motorway.

littlerach · 13/09/2006 20:54

Ooh the open stairs freak me out.

Worst was taking DD1 to some play place at a farm and she set off across the top with me following. Then I realsie the only way was over this contraption that was literally made of logs, suspended in mid air (or so it seemed) and OMG I was sweating and clinging on to DD so bad. All the 8 yera olds were trying to get past me.

Can you feel my fear?

hovely · 13/09/2006 21:41
