Charlie had been 'cheating' helping everyone else with their assignments (lighting fires etc) so got moved to another group!

Girl with long black hair's mum said she could come home and then changed her mind - ha ha!!

Fran was her normal self and was falling over from carrying not only that huge rucksack type thing but that humungous chip too!!

Dan sort fo got himself together and actually said he cannot understand how he got himself into that sort fo state!!

James and Fran had huge rows - they really hate each other - mind you they all seem to hate Fran!!

None of them got to go home for Xmas!!

Coddy · 24/03/2004 12:30

article in times about one of them today

Charlie was the one who was always fighting.

beansprout · 24/03/2004 12:42

Thought I was going to burst something when Fran couldn't get up under the weight of her backpack again. That would be the same backpack she was managing to jump up and down under when she was in a better mood then? Thought so....

James is way too posh for my liking, can't be doing with middle class kiddie angst, it's like Molly Ringwald in the "Breakfast Club" all over again!

hmb · 24/03/2004 12:47

Doctor Dan had a chat with Mum and that changed her mind. I think that the Mum realised that the girl probably hadn't changed that much, and she was told that since being told she was going home had stopped making an effort.

I think that Doc Dan is way cool! He has got those kids so sussed out. I was very impressed when he said that James was just like Fran, just better at hiding it! That might be why they can't stand each other.

Must say that Fran is a pain tho. She has that 'The whole world hates me' thing down to a fine act doesn't she?

beansprout · 24/03/2004 12:51

I feel for Fran in a way, as it is clearly very painful living in her world. She wants to think that she doesn't care, but she clearly does, very, very much.

That said, I ain't inviting her over. Tolerant from a distance, that's me

Twinkie · 24/03/2004 12:52

DP likes the old woman with long grey hair - he is a weirdo!!

Thought the scarey little one who pretended to be crazy was quite normal last night though - he actually seemed to be talking sense at least!!

I hope fran is kept there forever!! - Mind you her mum was a bit oooo poor me so you can see where she gets it from!!

I would though if I was the mother of those children gut their bedrooms completely throw away anyting about marilyn manson and black sabbath and drugs and gawd knows what else and paint the rooms a calming greeny colour - their reactions would show if they really had changed I reckon!!

hmb · 24/03/2004 12:54

I'm at a bit of a loss to see why she is so sad. I suppose that we don't see tha background so it is hard to tell. She just seems to be driven to push people away and then hate them (and herself) for not being friends.

katierocket · 24/03/2004 12:54

agree with beansprout in that I think (cliche though it may be) she is just hiding a lot of hurt and is VERY insecure. I didn't see the first episode and wondered what the score is re: them coming home. Last night it was saying that doctor dan was the only person who had the authority to send them home - that strikes me as a bit scary, I mean he seems to know his stuff but not sure I'd put my child in a situation where their 'releas' comes down to just one person.

beansprout · 24/03/2004 12:54

Oooh, love the changing rooms idea Twinkie!!

Why do the men all have that same beard? What's that about?

katierocket · 24/03/2004 12:55

ah yes twinko
"white winds"

what would your name be?

I think mine would be "fighting bear"

hmb · 24/03/2004 12:55

I think that the same are amazing. They never get cross they just plug away at the kids in that calm way they all seem to have.

mind you, it helps that the kids can't stomp out to smoke dope with their mates. the advantages of being in the middle of no-where.

hmb · 24/03/2004 12:56

The parents can get them out at any time can't they?

beansprout · 24/03/2004 12:56

They can either come home when they:
a) graduate - ie pass all the tests and are really nice people to boot
or
b) their parents bottle it and call them back, which is what nearly happened with Rachael last night.

I was shouting at the tv while her mum was wavering saying "wind the tape forward, f**k Christmas, think how she will be by Easter!!!"

Twinkie · 24/03/2004 12:57

Maybe that is what is wrong with me - I have no patience because I have had all of my hair cut off - oh enlightenment at last - its got to be a hair thing cause I would have picked up a tree and given a couple of them a good shoeing (or treeing) starting with poor old frannie!!

hmb · 24/03/2004 12:57

Someone in work suggested (in a warm loving way) that I should be Sarcy Mare

Twinkie · 24/03/2004 12:58

Heaving Squirrel at the mo probably!!

DP reckons his would be Groping Bear on account of my ever swelling boobs (if they carry on like this I will hold world records by the time this pregnancy is over!!)

beansprout · 24/03/2004 12:59

Those leaders are a bit wrong to me. Don't get me wrong, I am a respecter of hippies, but these ones are on a power trip. Those kids are totally dependent on them for survival and they call all the shots. It's a bit odd really. The real challenge would be to get them to be decent in their home environments. We are all different when we are away (even if it is the Utah desert).

hmb · 24/03/2004 13:00

I scared me a bit when Charlie was given his knife! Don't know if I'd like to be in the middle of Utah with Charlie and a knife!

beansprout · 24/03/2004 13:00

My name at home is already Lovely Moose (and am only 12 weeks!)

Twinkie · 24/03/2004 13:00

Oooohhhh I would love to be a leader!!!

katierocket · 24/03/2004 13:01

like the names

there seems to be some sort of correlation between how patient you are and the amount of plaits you have.

Coddy · 24/03/2004 13:01

whats charlie done to deserve that?

OP posts:
beansprout · 24/03/2004 13:01

What would your tactics be Twinkie?!
