Those staff must get paid LOADS. I mean, dammit, where are the overheads in the desert?!!! They are feeding them sawdust and won't even give them matches or backpacks!

Janh · 24/03/2004 13:38

Wayne Rooney

Or is it Charlie....?

Janh · 24/03/2004 13:40

With the exception of poor acned Dan I was thinking they all looked remarkably clean and healthy last night. There's a lot to be said for plain food and fresh air - like here during the war.

hmb · 24/03/2004 13:43

Ah, thank you. And yes, if that is Wayne, then there is a similarity. Doesn't have the mad eyes tho.

The pretent nutter has come around a bit hasn't he?

We have missed a lot I think. Were they the bits where they got thrashed with a tree trunk for not walking? Why did Rachael suddenly decide she could walk after all? Was it the fact that they other kids would lynch her if she made them late for camp again? And when did Fran do when she got hungry?

beansprout · 24/03/2004 13:43

I agree, think they look healthy too. Still demand to know what they are being fed though. And whatever it is, can only be mixed with water?!

Eugh! Maybe Fran wasn't so mad for chucking it all out, after all.

hmb · 24/03/2004 13:44

I think it is because they haven't got all the metal and dreds tbh. And not smoking/doing drugs/getting pissed for over a month will do wonders for the complection. They all look more like kids somehow.

hmb · 24/03/2004 13:45

In the first prog they show what looked like trail mix/museli and oats. No wonder they are farting so much. damn another rock.

beansprout · 24/03/2004 13:47

I think it's any old powdery crap the hippies can dig up, on the basis that when you are that hungry, you will eat anything, no matter what it is. On "Survivor" they all cheerfully tucked into rats. How I enjoyed that too.

hmb · 24/03/2004 13:50

From thei web site

'
Our approach to physical health is quite simple. Daily exercise fortified with a healthy diet can do amazing things to the body. The daily exercise comes mostly from hiking and our diet, though a little bland, is all about what the body needs not what we desire. Our diet is modeled after the book "Eat Drink And Be Healthy" written by Dr. Willet of the Harvard School Of Medicine.'

they go on to say that most kids loose 4 lb in weight but lose 10lb of fat and gain 6 lb of muscle. They also claim a reduction in acne.....so Dan will be ok by the end

beansprout · 24/03/2004 14:03

"Although a little bland"?!!

Dan will need to be there for about 10 years, by which time he would have grown out of it anyway. Bless.

Twinkie · 24/03/2004 14:30

Beansprout my tactics would be oooohhhh so much worse - I would have shaved frans head the moment she got there and that daft bloke with the red hair - I mean DP said he looks like he had been beaten half to death with the ugly stick and thenhe goes and tops it off with that monstrosity of a haircut!!

I would also not give them any food - make them live off of the land - mind you I wanted this to be some boot camp thing - always think that nmore fun but this seems to be working well!!

Charlie completely freaked me out when he started saying that he knew when he had a disagreement because he had the person who disagreed with him's blood on his hands!! - Arrrgggghhhh nutter alert!!

beansprout · 24/03/2004 14:39

Am convinced that Charlie was just trying to get a rise out of the hippies. Have known people who "have changed" but who still like to let you know they had violent pasts. Very agressive really, and only designed to intimidate. I would say, "Oi, Charlie, over by the cactus, NOW!" and see what he is really made of.

Totally agree about Dan's face/hair and am still finding James incredibly smackable. But maybe that's just me.

hmb · 24/03/2004 14:43

TBH most of them have faces you could smack all day without your arm geting tired.

It is Fran who gets to me the most. I think because she has yet to learn that she is going to have to play by their rules if she is to get out.

Do you think that they will walk off and leave them is they refuse to walk?

Twinkie · 24/03/2004 14:46

ROFL HMB - I lurve that phrase - although would not smack Charlie - he may knife me!!

eddm · 24/03/2004 14:47

LOL Twinkie, that description of stupid dyed hair boy is spot on!

beansprout · 24/03/2004 14:49

Would the hippies walk away? I doubt it, Rachael spent most of last week laying by one road or another and they had to wait for her. Surely though, if they set off, brat would have to catch up? Or maybe they have tried that and brats rely on them coming back for them, you know, rather than letting them actually die or something.

I sort of like Fran, in that she is the least smug and middle class of all of them. I find the rest of them a bit manipulative and dishonest, but there is at least a raw quality to Fran, so I think that if we do see a big change in her, it will be a genuine one. James Fonfe (I mean really?), well, couldn't trust him as far as I could throw him (but I would have a great afternoon trying).

F*k, poo, bllcks, ase - and not a rock in sight, ha ha.

hmb · 24/03/2004 14:51

The only time I liked James was when he asked the crew not to explain to the hippies what bollocks meant! LOL

The hippies are so cool tho. I'm seriously impressed by their self control. Note to self.....must try this when I go back to school.

beansprout · 24/03/2004 14:56

Am sort of impressed with hippies but then again, they are making sh*t loads of money (rock), and have no relationship with the brats, not as relatives, barely as professionals. I mean, they had a big change over last night, so they are clearly only there for a bit and then go home anyway.

Do we want to speculate on what the brats will be like when they grow up?

hmb · 24/03/2004 14:59

Yes, it would be interesting to see how long they stay with the kids at a time. Mind you more than 5 minutes would be too much for me. Apparantly they get kids wanting to go back as instructors!

katierocket · 24/03/2004 15:03

perhaps it's because I don't actually have to be near them but I don't find any of them annoying (Dan/Kevin slighly gross maybe), I do feel a bit sorry for them because I think being a teenager can be a bit rubbish. Don't get me wrong, I think they deserve what they get but I can kind of see why they are like they are.

Possibly I'd feel different if I actually had to deal with them though! Heh hmb? don't you teach this age group?

hmb · 24/03/2004 15:08

yeeeeessss! Can we have a whip round to send one or 2?

No to be honest most of the kids I teach are fine. On their own they are almost all fine. Put them in a pack and they get a bit freal.

there are about 4-5 that I'd like to send out!

katierocket · 24/03/2004 15:09

you see, despite my understanding towards the TV bratkids, if I actually had to go near a teenager I would definitely want to run away.

beansprout · 24/03/2004 15:11

Katierocket - would you like me to lend you one? Really, not a problem....

Twinkie · 24/03/2004 15:12

James looks like one of my old boyfriends - half spanish and a complete stud pants!! - I find his arrogance attractive actually - oh God I can't believe I wrote that - bet there is a James Fonfe fan club somewhere!!

Actually let me say that would last for 5 minutes then I would realise I am probably old enough to be his mother and would have to slap him!

katierocket · 24/03/2004 15:12

eeeeooo no thanks.

don't they smell?
