educatingrita · 19/07/2006 13:19

WOW mratty thats an amazing lot of work in 3 months, well done !

How old is your DD?

mrratty · 19/07/2006 13:27

She's 5, I do think it's a case of the more you do the more you get because there do seem to be links between the people doing her shoots.

julie4travel · 19/07/2006 13:35

thats superb Mrratty- maybe i should try them again to see if they will take on my ds1 they said no before

mimi1uk · 19/07/2006 14:36

julie 4 travel i would try them all again why not what have u got to loose use different pictures!!!!!!! and see what happens im sure they all have a change of client needs very reguarly so i would give it another, go. whats the worst they can say no, which u have had already but again they may say yes.. which could save fees with ts x

julie4travel · 19/07/2006 14:53

mrratty- might give it a try again. that is whats holding me off with ts if i did both kids at £170 then the combined photoshoot at £120 thats just under £500. They do seem to get the work yet will they make enough to cover those costs I would have paid out. I think my dd will go def with TS though as not many agents want her and thats her best option. where as my dd more agents want so i may just re submit his. i have more updated photos now from the Cs shoot which i can use. Are b and B sole rep i cant remember? and purely modelling or tv too?

mimi1uk · 19/07/2006 15:21

bruce and brown r sole rep not sure about just modelling tho i suppose they do get like commercials

mrratty · 19/07/2006 15:55

B&B are sole rep but I have heard that they will take you on only to do photographic if you are with an acting agency. Good Luck!!!

housemum · 19/07/2006 16:04

Hi again - it's toooo hot to do anything!

Mrratty - can I just ask if you had a quiet period for your DD round about the age of 3? Norrie Carr did tell me that 2.5 - 4 is a tricky age, but we've had nothing for months. The last thing was a casting for a film in March(Holiday) - don't know if any of you went for that one? They had 2 lots of kids: child-in-pushchair (DDs age) and kids-in-street (about 5-6).

mrratty · 19/07/2006 16:05

DD joined NC when she was 4 in the year she was with them had 2 castings for commercials and nothing else!

mrratty · 19/07/2006 16:06

I think the agency photos can sometimes make a huge difference.

lanismum · 19/07/2006 16:11

phew, just got back from the park, went into the kids paddling pool, was lovely until some blokes came in with their kids and started smoking joints!! they even offered me 1, im no angel, but theres a place and a time, and today was neither! apart from that it was lovely
mrratty, your dd is a little star, shes soooo busy!

yack, whaddya mean you were too busy? sheesh..... how is the little love? how is ds with her?

mimi, hows the little mans gums?

housemum · 19/07/2006 16:13

This year her agency photos are pretty good - certainly on the page she's on she does stand out as looking bright and cheerful, but some photos are distinctly average (a couple on the site I'm sure are just home shots, one other thing that has annoyed me is that they say they won't put pics on the website over 12 months old, but there are a couple of baby pics in the 2-4 year olds).

But has anyone else found the age of 3 awkward, or do I need to get more pushy!!

mimi1uk · 19/07/2006 16:19

he is feeling very sorry 4 himself, he is just about 2 have a nap just gave him a bath to cool down !!!! housemum who r u with is it norrie carr x

cyan · 19/07/2006 16:20

lanismum that cracked me up the text you sent me!

housemum · 19/07/2006 16:32

Mimi - yes she's with NC - she seemed to be flavour-of-the-month for a while when she was just turned 2, 5 castings & 6 jobs between 22 and 27 months old, but the tumbleweed is rolling past now that she's 3 ...

mrratty · 19/07/2006 16:38

housemum, that is alot of work. It must just be an age thing then, I'm sure that things will pick up. I've been told that 18months - 3 years is a really difficult time and things really get going at about 4.

cyan · 19/07/2006 16:38

housemum> we used to be with norrie carr. how long have you been with them for? sorry if you have already said, jus cant be arsed to scroll down the thread am so lazy

housemum · 19/07/2006 17:02

Know what you mean - it's a pretty long thread! We've been with them since she was almost 1, she's now 3, she had a few jobs when she had just turned one, a couple of unsuccessful castings that autumn, a load of castings and jobs when she was 2, and just a few castings since (made it to the final 3 on a film - grrr!!)

mimi1uk · 19/07/2006 17:06

housemum have u considered moving agencies to maybe 1 that has minimal fees???????????

cyan · 19/07/2006 17:08

we are with urban angels but am thinking i might put it on a hold for a bit as my ds seems to be at a difficult age. am actually quie glad we havent had anything for a cpl of weeks could not be arsed to traipse around town in this heat am a lazy cow

mimi1uk · 19/07/2006 17:13

cyan i know what u mean i have not even got dressed 2day !!!!!!!!

cyan · 19/07/2006 17:21

housemum · 19/07/2006 17:50

Heat is just horrid

Went to the local shopping centre today - didn't need to buy anything, just walked around all those lovely air-conditioned shops (luckily dd is a shopaholic - she was happy to wander round Bear Factory, toyshops etc without buying anything so long as she had the promised ice cream after lunch!!)

H & M gets a big thumbs-up for super-cool air-con in our local branch!!

housemum · 19/07/2006 18:02

Am going to have a cool shower and get ready for my bit of "extra" work tonight at the M&S commercial - hope their air-con is working!! See you tomorrow
