Hi

OP posts:
princessmel · 12/07/2006 09:52

Hi Julie, That is interesting. She'd have to be real unless its someone else using her name! I'll look on the website, thanks. Still no email from BB My husband thinks I'm obsessed but when I get a bee in my bonnet about something I don't give in till I get it! Hence name....

Marne · 12/07/2006 09:56

Hi, thanks for all the advice, i e-mailed picture to a few agencies so far one (mot) has e-mailed back saying no to both girls so not looking to good so far, i know evryone thinks they're LO's are cute so how do you you realy know if they have got what it takes to model.

Not sure if i will try anymore agencies as i dont know if i can take people saying my kids are'nt good enough.
How do you feel when your kids are turned down? Do you get used to it?

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 09:57

princessmel- its is addictive actually - you want the best for your kids so want to go through the options.

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 10:02

marne- to tell you the truth i think its their loss and i know my kids aren't everyones cup of tea. I am not the sort who think my kids are gorgeous they are photogenic with lovely personalities. Most of the best rated agencies said no to my two yet i then went through the options to see what was the best ones left who said yes. Literally i emailed them all! Even more said no to my dd (i felt a bit sorry for her yet she is nearly three so i don't blame them preferring them when a bit older!) although she is good, last year i wouldn't have dreamed sending her info off as she was quite naughty and not really photogenic, she was quite shy and now is very loud and confident! Don't give up! just think of it that you will find teh right agency for your kids. Mot and ones like that take such a small percentage of kids on. I have gone for agencies which take more on about 350 kids on the books. its better than scallywags of 1000 kids who we were with last year!

princessmel · 12/07/2006 10:10

Hi Marne, my DD has had a few no's and it does upset me but I'm doing what Julie did, NOT GIVING UP! I still haven't had all my replys yet thought...

Julie, just applied at DebbieMcgee for both my kids! How funny, but she prob does have a lot of contacts. They said they'd reply in 48 hours. Doesn't say anything about fees or sole rep etc so we'll see.

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 10:22

princessmel - thats what i thought, i bet debbie will call in favours etc off people to get it off the ground, i emailed asking about sole rep etc as they could be worth a try for my dd if TS don't accept her on Sat, fingers crossed they will!

Marne · 12/07/2006 10:27

Thanks, we are trying Debbie Mcgee, they dont ask fer much info like the others do.

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 10:32

Debbie mcgee might suddely be inundated with applications! i guess its a bit of a risk going with her as they wont have repeat customers yet it could just get the step onto modelling. Its hard to know what to do for the best! Good luck with hearing from the agencies. is there any others you are waiting back from, did you try ones like Norrie carr and Truly Scrumptious they are the better ones which accepted mine out of the lot i tried.

princessmel · 12/07/2006 10:36

Not sure if you were asking me or marne!, We're waiting from BB, Kids and Bubblegum.
Mot, Norrie, Elisabeth Smith said no. Bk and Rascals said yes. Will try UA in nov. Childsplay said yes but I missed the deadline and dh wasn't happy about paying for an assesment anyway. phew! its hard to keep up.

Marne · 12/07/2006 10:41

We are waiting to hear from Bubblegum, B&B, Bizkids (i think thats what they are called) and now Debbiemcgee, not sure what others to try?

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 10:46

princessmel- sorry was asking you both- this agency said yes to my ds yet were unsure on my dd
www.alphabetkidz.co.uk/
yet i had already booked the nc and ts assesment before trying them so i didn't arrange the assesment

there is a modelling competition you may wantto try a free contract (if there is one near you)
www.modelsearch.co.uk/
could be a bit too competitive though and not nice for the kids being up against lots of others yet u never know!

Hi everyone

I have just phoned Debbie Mcgees to ask about the agency. Spoke to a very nice lady they are not sole rep, what they do they go round all different areas of the country and you take the child to where ever they are holding there auditions. You sort everything out there and then photos portfolio they do a video clip of them etc. They do all types of work voice overs film extras tv work, photographic and they charge appox £140 i dont know if that is a one off or yearly.

princessmel · 12/07/2006 11:04

Julie> The model search comp is for children of 4 and over and I don't think I could cope with having them stand on stage competing openly like that anyway! Thanks tho.

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 11:07

Morning Strawb- that was quick of you

Guess what no updated CS site today (i have checked already!)

Got the cd rom of the two images from the session though and just downloaded onto my pc. They aren't that bad actually. Bet they aren't as good as your dds as she looked great. Any more luck for work for you recently? I only brought the 2 images and copyright on them as that was £40 (£20 per image)

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 11:08

princessmel- i am the same on the stage thing bet its a bit competitive. There is photos on that site on the ones they have already held and it seems that its really busy. There is a couple not tooo far from me actually. If no agency had wanted them i would have prob tried it though!

strawberrymilkshake · 12/07/2006 11:13

I know i hate wondering i just find it quicker to ring speak to someone and then its done, im not very patient and i like to know everything lol

I have looked on cs 3 times today waiting, i dont know what picture to buy, did you buy yours in colour.

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 11:16

straw- just brought the black and white options and the copyright.i am wondering if i should get a book put together on his photos to take with us to castings etc?

Does anyone else do that?

Its the first pictures i have of him where you cant tell he is ginger! So its totally strange because his hair colour is so bright normally.

strawberrymilkshake · 12/07/2006 11:18

I have not heard of people doing that, but you could get a book and start putting him a portfolio together.

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 11:20

Debbie Mcgee straight away replied back yes to my dd, i didn't send in my ds. i thought i would ask the question on sole rep etc. they are currently getting 30 other clients on their website apparently! i wont reply till after sats appointment if we are succesful or not.

princessmel · 12/07/2006 11:25

Julie, did you apply on the website or by email?

The model search thing looks very busy and terrifying! So many kids.

Marne · 12/07/2006 11:29

We have a YES for both dd's from DebbieMcgee and a lovely e-mail saying what lovely names the dd's have, they would like us to go and see them whaen they are in Bournmouth. Not sure if i can aford £140 photo shoots though (for both of them) Is that the norm?

princessmel · 12/07/2006 11:30

Aah how nice, just recieved two really nice emails about both kids. They have both been asked to go to one of their audition thingys. She said that dd had a wonderful name and that she sounds delightful! They asked if I could make the Aug 13th one but don't know whether to wait for replys from elsewhere.

julie4travel · 12/07/2006 11:31

on website and emailed questions over

I have now asked on clients, who they have supplied models for jobs for as they have been going three months and if can be with them purely for modelling as my dd is with cs for tv, i await their repsonce!

princessmel · 12/07/2006 11:31

Just read your post Marne, she obviously likes a lot of names!
