The first tape I bought was the original soundtrack to the Kids from Fame TV series. I don't think I've ever bought a single (not likely to now) so that's the best I can offer to this thread!

First one I bought was on vinyl - Atlantic Starr and Always. First single I ever owned on vinyl Band Aid - Do they know it's Christmas? A friend at school bought it as a gift.
