The first LP I bought must have been Raiders of the pop charts - an early now that's what I call music - with Lene Lovitch and Fat Larry's Band.
It had a fake tanned fake Harrison Ford in a fake jungle on the front. Classy.

Thomcat · 18/06/2006 21:22

Chaka Khan by Chaka Khan on 12" from Woolworths.

emsiewill · 18/06/2006 21:25

I had (think I've still got somewhere) Raiders of the Pop Charts. It was one of those "buy vol 1 and get vol 2 free! Had some really obscure tracks on it, too - not all hits like the "now..." series. There was one song on it called "Thank You" by the Pale Fountains (I think) - I really wish I could hear that again, I loved it.

ginmummy · 18/06/2006 21:26

First single I bought on vinyl was Guns n Roses 'Live And Let Die' and Gary Moore 'Cold Day In Hell' - I bought them at the same time.

First album I bought on tape was Van Halen 'For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge' and first album I bought on cd was Def Leppard 'High And Dry', round about the same time I think!

Love me, love my music!!

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 18/06/2006 21:26

Mine was 'holiday' by madonna. At least she is still about thoWinkGrinso my kiddies aren't too appalled...That was on 12" vinyl!

First tape album was AHA, along with my brand new walkman. Can still remember how smug I was at being the first of my mates to own my own walkman tooGrin. I knew all the words to AHA, and ooh, Mags....oooohGrin!!!

Then let myself down and bought myself (had to save hard too!) the double vinyl album of 'war of the worlds'Blush

And never would I play any of my vinyls either....they were sacred...taped all of them so the vinyl didn't get scratched. God I was anul retentive about themBlushBlush
