The headline in yesterday's News of the Screws (we buy that and 2 broadsheets, but guess which one always gets read first?!) was that Jordan is going to give birth live on the internet. What do people think?

Hmmm... She's quoted in this article as saying "You don't give up your own life entirely because you have a child. I'll be back soon in the clubs, having a good time." Does make you wonder just how commited she is to giving that poor child (who apparently also has a growth defect which needs hormone injections to correct it, as if he didn't have enough problems) the care he's going to need.

It just sounds like the words of any young first time mum who is trying to convince herself that everything will be ok, like many mums to be.

Hear hear sobernow! You voiced my opinions much more eloquently!

Tinker · 05/08/2002 18:51

bossykate - I imagine you've paid far more in tax than it would cost to look after you. The govt needs smokers!

bossykate · 05/08/2002 20:12

i don't want to be a champion of smoking or smokers' rights. i'm just p**d off to be lumped in with alcoholics and drug addicts when the destructive effect of these to society as a whole can be much higher than anything smoking related.

i've said all i've got to say on this, so will bow out.

Dreamer · 06/08/2002 10:49

It sounds like motherhood has matured Jordan. According to the Guardian today she has indicated her opposition to a US attack on Iraq......

Bozza · 06/08/2002 11:15

You can't really say that all smoker's behaviour does not impact on other members of the population. What about the effect of passive smoking?

Lizzer · 06/08/2002 12:31

Dreamer, hmmmm... but I also found this stunner of a quote from the woman "But Jordan is planning to continue with her modelling lifestyle, saying: "You don't give up your own life entirely because you have a child.

"I'll be back soon in the clubs, having a good time. I'm only 24.

"But Harvey will always be the number one priority. I'll look after him during the day and my mum will mostly look after him at night."

Well, if her mother offered I suppose she's part of the problem too - can you imagine asking your mum to look after your child every night??!!! Just for the record I was only 24 when I had dd - and I can count the number of times I've been clubbing in the last 2 yrs on one hand.

Rhubarb · 06/08/2002 14:29

Bossykate, we're not picking on smokers anymore then we are picking on drinkers. I drink (as the Northern mumsnetters will verify!) yet I'm not an alcoholic, similarly you might smoke, but I'm sure you are not a chain-smoker. It's the extremes we are discussing here.

I wonder now that Jordan has aired her political views we might see her on Question Time??!!

bundle · 06/08/2002 14:53

Rhubarb, she'll be popping up on Newsnight Review with Germaine Greer next
(sorry, maybe that was a bit mean)

Dreamer · 06/08/2002 15:31

How thick am I..........of course it wasn't our Katie who passed comment about Iraq it was Jordan (ie the country!).

I'm just going to crawl into a hole and die of embarrassment whilst you intelligent mumsnetters get on with it.......:0

Tillysmummy · 06/08/2002 15:36

I don't want to go clubbing anymore. Nice of her to look after him during the day though ! (tongue in cheek)

jodee · 06/08/2002 15:55

No, the Helen (of BB2) of mumsnet! - only joking, loved your posting.

janh · 11/08/2002 11:51

Latest news - Jordan has a rare form of cancer.

You couldn't make it up, could you?

ScummyMummy · 11/08/2002 12:21

Oh dear, Janh. Things aren't going well at all for them, are they?

Marina · 11/08/2002 20:17

Sorry to hear about that Janh, the poor woman.
Must just flick back a few days to send this to Dreamer, that is so funny! Thank you!
