I will confest to having one arrive in the post today.
Wondering where im gonna keep it out the way of the kids...without losing it entirely.
And also, do you have to wear a pad Just In Case?

it's no more 'ugggh' than tampons.

MissChief · 24/07/2006 20:15

but tampons absorb and are changed (I know not great fro envrintm that's why i'm interested)

google mooncup, its a little plastic egg cup type thing...you fold it, shove it up there and it goes...sluurrppp and suctions itself to your fanny walls Catches everything that runs down...4-6 hours later, you grab it, give it a squeeze, the suction goes..plop...and you remove, empty contents down loo, rinse and do it again...my periods are less dragging now...anyone elses? Its not as life sucking, its liberating, i have no idea why

same here, charlie! took a couple of months for me to get the hang of it - the first time, the stem was too long, the second time, i was putting it up too high.

but SO much better than tampons!

MissChief · 24/07/2006 20:20

nrly persuaded but still not confident about using it after 2o yrs of tampons! seems too good to be true also not keen on plastic cup up me - seems more of a foreign body than a tampon!

I agree charliecat. There's a fundamental, inexplicable pleasure from this small thing. Some kind of liberation.
It's extraordinary.

MissChief · 24/07/2006 20:23

hah, now you've got me Pruni -got to keep up on the sanitary product front! will now look quizzically at new neighbours!

charliecat · 24/07/2006 20:23

MissChief · 24/07/2006 20:32

well, it makes a change - my MN persona can be a right sanctimonious, whingey so-and-so (to make me all sweetness & light in RL)

doglover · 25/07/2006 16:41

Went out and bought one today! Been meaning to 'have a go' for ages but scoured Boots until I eventually tracked one down. I 've got as far as taking it out of the box and gulping but will actually 'try it for size' this evening! Wish me luck!!!!!
