Wallace · 24/04/2006 12:17

LOL Lockets I read that as you wanted to call your baby "Satan" Grin That would be different...

I did actually meet a toddler called John the other day, and thought "Gosh, how unusual!"

BTW I am reading this thread avidly to see if I can get any ideas in case db is a boy...

singersgirl · 24/04/2006 12:17

EvesMama · 24/04/2006 12:17

expatinscotland · 24/04/2006 12:18

You are all Americans in British clothing.

Those names aren't cool, they're naff dog's names.

crazydazy · 24/04/2006 12:18

I like Sid.

I know a 4 year called Arthur, now I don't like that, thinks its an old man's name.

EvesMama · 24/04/2006 12:19

EvesMama · 24/04/2006 12:20

maybe a bit too balamory tho'Grin

expatinscotland · 24/04/2006 12:21

Levi is an Old Testament name. He was one of the '12 Tribes of Israel' and the third son of Leah. Nothing 'chav' about it. I know went to school w/a boy called Levi who's now a rabbi.

singersgirl · 24/04/2006 12:31

Several Arthurs at the DSs' school. Also Gus.

yackertyyack · 24/04/2006 12:36

I like Fletcher for a boy and Sydney for a girl but don't know if i am brave enough to actually give them to DB2!!

Have to admit I heard a little boy being called Levi the other day and in a good strong essex accent it sounds v chavish!! (sorry) Didn't help that the sister was called Tequilla Blush and they were all dripping with bling.....don't think that the names had come from the biblical source!

EvesMama · 24/04/2006 12:37

obviously what she was wearing and what she was drinking on nights they were concieved!Wink

cyan · 24/04/2006 12:42

OOh yack great minds think alike, Sydney is nice!!! How are you lovely, when you off on hols? Ill send you an email about our meet up, need your dates.

The reason I'm not keen on Levi, is because the chap I was referring to was extremely chavvy, which has probably shaped my feelings on the name!

arfy · 24/04/2006 12:42

I know a baby called John

Have also heard of one called Victory! (a boy). And Suzi Godson in the Times has a baby daughter called Velvet

Nikkinoo · 24/04/2006 12:58

like double velvet loo roll! half the time its associations even a perfectly trad name like Amelia which i wanted for dd2 got vetoed (sp) because dp knew an unpleasant amelia also liked rose for her but MIL said it was too spikey ffs

Clary · 24/04/2006 13:18

Lockets I like Stan or Stanley and SId(ney) as well. But then I like old men’s names (ahem). And old ladies’ too - as anyone who has met my children will know!
