Met a mum in the park whose baby was called Buster. Kind of goes with Spike, no?

cyan · 24/04/2006 11:25

I really resented my parents when I was growing up for choosing my name, my brother is James, which I thought was completely unfair! Coupled with an eastern european surname, it was hellish trying to get people to spell it correctly!

Helen38 · 24/04/2006 11:25

We know a spike too, also a Midas, which is, well..... differentWink

spidermama · 24/04/2006 11:33

Can't move for Spikes around here. Spike is the new John. Grin

Unusual names are not unusual any more. I think it's time to get over it and move on.

(Quiz: Have the spiderkids got unusual names? a) yes. b) No. Wink)

Yes Lockets. He's regularly in role as Alice Corallis. He starts school in September so I don't know if Alice's days are numbered. Could be interesting.

For picassotriggerfish:

In Irish legends Oscar was the grandson of Finn (or Fionn) Mac Cool. Napoleon was a fan of a Scottish poet who wrote poems based on these legends and when one of his officers had a son, Napoleon was godfather and named the child Oscar. Napoleon later made this officer king of Sweden and the boy later succeeded his father to become King Oscar I of Sweden. The name became very popular in Sweden and became a traditional name in the royal house. Oscar I's court physician was Sir William Wilde and his son was named - Oscar Wilde, partly after the king and partly because his mother was involved in the celtic revival.

lucykate · 24/04/2006 12:12

i like stan, also like seth

zephyrcat · 24/04/2006 12:15

I love Tyler Rocks!! What a cool name!

There's a Thorne and a Kray at dd's school. I've also known a Nimrod - Daddy was in the RAF.
