I've decided to buy a chaning bag for my sister in law who has just had a baby girl.

I'm loving the look of \link{http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7759986905&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1\this.}

Despite having four children I have never got round to buying a designated changing bag so I'd welcome any views on this, or changing bags in general, from those of you with experience.

\link{http://www.allerhand.com\I have one of these} - the rucksack.

Bought it for myself for Christmas (with money from ILs). Cost 50 €. Has lots of extra pouches and pockets, a changing mat (bit on the small side) and an insulated bottle holder (which I haven't used). I like the look of them a lot and they're dad friendly too.

Someone gave me a nifty changing bag which unfolded into a travel cot - although you had to empty most of the sodding pockets first.

Only used it if we going somewhere for a full day out, but must admit it was handy.

lanismum · 20/04/2006 20:37

iv got a skip hop, love it, i love the way that when its attached to the pram the bag is high up, so you can see what you are looking for, only prob is mine seems to get full of crap so its really heavy, wish i was someone who could just take a few bits out, i just cant do it Blush

cjmummy · 20/04/2006 20:54

i had an oi oi messenger bag as a present from work ... it is the dot design .. it looks good and my dp isnt embarassed carrying it! its worth considering that if you buy something really flowery a man may not want to be seen walking down the street with it!

RuthT · 20/04/2006 21:07

I spent £115 on a changing bag Blush and I love it, used it every single day for 9 months so I figure the cost was worth it.

I got mine from \link{http://www.groovymummy.co.uk\groovy mummy}

It's fab, I can wipe it, it always looks clean, have had loads of comments about it, lots of pockets etc etc

Unity · 20/04/2006 21:10

A changing bag!!!!!
My 'changing bag' is whichever fab bag I already own that I decide to use that day. And I shove into it 2 or 3 nappies, a pack of wipes, a spare vest and a spare babygrow, end of.

ja9 · 20/04/2006 21:11

i think the bag is gorge. i'd love to receive it as a gift. i had a rucksack bag with ds but would love a nice changing bag for when db 2 comes along.. (i'm not preg btw, just in case any pals reading my posts!)

spidermama · 20/04/2006 21:50

Wow RuthT. Gorgeous but I think £275 for a changing bag is a little beyond my budget.

I'm wavering again. I've come up with no better ideas so if I don't find anything in town tomorrow then I'll be getting the bag after all.

cod · 20/04/2006 21:57

oh spider please

dot buy a naffola changing bag

go and get pissed with sil and tell her you lover her relaly

bobblehead · 20/04/2006 21:59

I find they're a little like pushchairs- no such thing as the perfect one so I need a selection depending on where I'm going, ranging from an expensive change bay that clips on buggy to a carrier bag.

spidermama · 20/04/2006 22:00

Well I obviously can't buy one now. I can't get pissed with her either incidentally because she now lives hundreds of miles away.

So ... wtf should I buy her? It's got to be good as she has no family over here and it's her first baby.
