Cod lights the touch paper. I'll fan the flames.

Yes. It's exploiting the child. They're too young to understand marketting. I'm very uncomfortable with images of children being used to sell any product.

georginarf · 19/03/2006 14:17

you know, I am quite ambivalent about the modelling threads, each to their own and all that, but the one about agencies 'we' are with does seem a bit odd. especially the one with the unborn child who will obviously be signed up ASAP. just seems a bit mercenary really

georginarf · 19/03/2006 14:18

I don't think the argument that 'they enjoy' it really works when you're talking about signing up your foetus either

Pinotmum · 19/03/2006 14:18

I have my opinions but have decided to keep them to myself for the sake of harmony Wink

snafu · 19/03/2006 14:19

Tee hee. I've got a couple of hours to kill, so why not?

OK. Hate child moggling threads. Think child moggling mums are freakish, selfish obsessives. Wish they'd bugger off and set up childmogglingalley.com and let us talk about lipstick, vile dhs and world affairs.

{grin]

snafu · 19/03/2006 14:20

Ooooh, who's the one with the beautiful foetus, then?

flutterbee · 19/03/2006 14:21

Child modelling is just modern day chimmeny children, but they are forced to wear make up now.

georginarf · 19/03/2006 14:23

oh OK the post actually says "DD3 as yet unborn and unsigned Grin" so maybe I'm being a bit harsh. the implication is there though....

Shock@ contemplating signing your child up to a modelling agencybefore they are even born!

suzywong · 19/03/2006 14:26

has this thing kicked off yet

spacecadet · 19/03/2006 14:27

lol suzywong

georginarf · 19/03/2006 14:27

disappointingly, no it hasn't

I think it's rather odd that it's all "I" and "We" in the posts. I thought it was the kids doing the pushing and it was all for them

snafu · 19/03/2006 14:29

I like the way this thread and the real child modelling thread are both top of active convos though. Free speech and all that...

We just need someone with a membership of bizzykidz and a sense-of-humour bypass to join us, and then we'll be having real fun.

Carmenere · 19/03/2006 14:32

but none of the mums on the child moddeling threads go on the other threads - wierd.

misdee · 19/03/2006 14:33

yes i do.

snafu · 19/03/2006 14:34

Ah, but you were a real MNer before you were a child-modeller, misdee... Grin

Carmenere · 19/03/2006 14:35

Yes you do misdee but that's because you are interested in lots of things and not scared of debate.

suzywong · 19/03/2006 14:35

I m ust admit I never read them, horribly jealous you see

Pruni · 19/03/2006 14:36

I know someone who said "Well, I fully expect this to be a good-looking baby, and I have no problem with child modelling..." only to give birth to a Neanderthal throwback with all the cutesy wutesy appeal of a brooding drunk. It hasn't been mentioned since.

misdee · 19/03/2006 14:36

i am a real baby-modelling, i make babies out of clay Wink

expatinscotland · 19/03/2006 14:37

yes, i agree 100%. dd1 has been approached to model. no, no, no!

snafu · 19/03/2006 14:38

Oh well, of course, ds has had the agencies tripping over themselves to get him on their books. But I stand firm and hold on to my principles. No, really, I do.

fairyfly · 19/03/2006 14:39

Depemds what they are modelling, if it's Guantánamo Bay holidays, then yes, probably.

welshboris · 19/03/2006 14:39

I despise mogelling, but alliebaba posts here and on them and shes OK
