I am going to say something deeply offensive. If you are a child modelling mummy, feel free to make your own mind up about this.

I was in Ikea years ago, queuing, and this woman in front of me said that my then baby dd3 would make a great child model. She gave me her card and I looked her up and it was a bone fide well known London agency. I told my xh about this - proud as punch that she had been chosen - and he went ape. He worked in the prison service and said that they had confiscated catelogues with young children in, from the cells of convicted paedophiles.

It completely changed my thoughts on her modelling. I realised that once the photos of her were out there, I would have absolutely no control....

Sorry to put another downer on what is already a contentious thread.

i know what u mean.. mine aren't featured on any sites or in any books, but surely these pervs get pics from anywhere they want.. school pics in papers etc.. it is a worry though.

Being objective (or as objective as I can) ,my kids are at least a good looking as the kids on that agency, and better than a good few, and I have never thought that my kids are outstandingly beautiful or anything.

allie see what you're saying, paedos can get images from anywhere, what about a local rag or something? there are plenty of images of children assimilated into the public sphere, which arent for an advertising/promotional purpose, eg a feature/news etc therefore perverts wil always be able to get hold of images of kids in someway.

i think slagging off the adults models is better than slagging of the kids.

yep, leave the poor kids alone, like someone said earlier its not just what you look like with modelling its personality. if someones kid is not so hot looking they might have a great personality . il have to have a nose at the adults now, havent looked yet

just too add also that dont forget that the kids arent just for photo modelling, when WE watchbalamory etc etc its all child models acting on em and you cant have kids tv without kids. just a thought

There really must be something about their personality because, while lots of them are lovely looking children, they are no more attractive than all of the kids I know. I don't know many children that you'd think were unattractive.

.........although they did have their funny moments, like when I had to lend my jumper to a model, but her (non stretchy) top didn't fit me.

hmmm, whilst I was a svelt size 10 then, I was a E cup and she must have been an AAA and a small size 8! Photographer used big clips down her back to make the jumper look as though it fitted. We both laughed when we took our tops off and realised how er....different we were.

well there are fair amount of adults on there that are not really model material, thats only my opinion though.

Although I agree the criticism leaves a nasty taste, I have to say that your pictures are posted on the world wide web for anyone to see/discuss. Perhaps you will think about that more carefully in future.
