Apologies if this has been done before.
I can't actually remember how I found it, but I must have signed up at some point, as I got one of the weekly emails, and there was a thread about things you didn't know before you had children which had me pmsl, so I started to join in more with the discussions.
That thread was hilarious, but I can't find it anywhere!
So how did everyone come to be here? Just curious! Wink

pucca · 06/03/2006 16:26

Googled something to do with my dd and got a link to it, been on ever since, the funny thing is i have looked at other sites such as babyworld, and they just do nothing for me...i like the way mumsnet is set up with active convo's etc.

An article in The Sunday Times a couple of years ago. Recall it described wickedwaterwitch in very glowing terms. Wink

I was looking for a miracle cure for excema. I found it on another site but there was lots of useful info on MN and I became addicted quite soon after!

Angua · 06/03/2006 16:33

I heard about it from a friend

jac34 · 06/03/2006 16:40

I saw a little notice on the board in the library.
The boys were 3yo and very much a handful, thought I could use any advice I could get.

My son is allergic to dairy, eggs and nuts. I think I put something in a search engine and found Mumsnet.... That was about 2 years ago... been hooked ever since... Smile

BadHair · 06/03/2006 16:58

Was googling for something else. Just popped on for a quick look, and am still here 3 years later.

prettybird · 06/03/2006 17:02

It was mentioned on the Babyworld site (before they kpet such tabs on mentions of other sites Wink and I came acorss and had a look.

Was disconcerted at first - didn't like the "long" threads, plus I "knoew" people on Babyworld - but once I realsied it was actually mcuh more user friendly, ie you don't have to keep clicking in and out of messages becasue you can see the whole thread, I got hooked.

There were also one or two people I "recognised" from Babyworld, which helped.

purpleturtle · 06/03/2006 17:02

A friend put me onto it. She's banned from talking to me about scrapbooking in case I catch that addiction too!

Miaou · 06/03/2006 17:10

saw an article about it in the times - there's still a link to it on the home page.

cod · 06/03/2006 17:11

PandaG · 06/03/2006 17:13

\link{http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2092-1061560_1,00.html\this} is the Times article I read. Although I'm sure it went on about how blonde and chic WickedWaterWitch is and it doesn't mention it there. Must have dreamt that part up... Blush

tamum · 06/03/2006 17:24

Another Times mag in early 03. They've got a lot to answer for.
