How did you find Mumsnet?

Apologies if this has been done before.
I can't actually remember how I found it, but I must have signed up at some point, as I got one of the weekly emails, and there was a thread about things you didn't know before you had children which had me pmsl, so I started to join in more with the discussions.
That thread was hilarious, but I can't find it anywhere!
So how did everyone come to be here? Just curious!

ah yes, I remember the blog. I've just merged the two together.

I remember a photograph of a big meet-up with all the MN Towers staff there too. There are 3 separate articles we're talking about, aren't there- the ST one, the blog one, and the Saturday mag one.

The big meet up with the double page photo was the one ks and I organised I think, so that was Christmas 2002 and was in the Sat Times.

My friend Tessiebear, told me about it. Infact she came round to see me one afternoon, got it up on my pc & made me register there & then!

Joined after seeing a thread kick off on Raising Kids (which I visited very infrequently) and someone suggested using MN to another poster. They got a bit of a slamming for doing so, but it worked for me

I was looking for ideas for a Halloween party.

Watched Mums the Word and loved it so I thought I would check out the website..

was given the book 'mums on babies' when ds was born. I scoped out the site because i was curious.

Googled the phrase 'best gift for a new parent' ages ago when the first of my friends sprogged and I was both childless and clueless.
Mumsnet was the first hit, and still is!

had a feverish patch while pregnant and would go and read every parenting book in borders. came across 'mums on babies', bought it, read it like a mantra every time i was nervous, got around to the website a few weeks after ds was born, must be my 2 year anniversary about now, hats, cake, candles

sounds familiar acnebride. we bought every book going. we didn't have a clue. 'mums on babies' was def the best one. I used to look things up at 3am when my ds was crying and i was stressing. we really didn't have a clue.
