nulnulcat · 20/03/2006 19:06

i am going to ring agency at the end of the week, after not hearing from them for months i think i need to be a bit more of a pushy parent!!

tinkerbellchelle · 20/03/2006 19:08

nulcat... will they be direct jobs or will you be going to castings. It will be brilliant if they are jobs without castings!!! lets hope it comes thru for you :)

totallyfloaty35 · 20/03/2006 19:20

have just swapped my nuchal scan apt,was supposed to go st thomas's on april 6th,but will be 13wks then and im far to impatient,so having private one at goring on 29th march.Very nervous as husband not back in country til mid april so will have to go on my own.
Midwife apt on friday, was told they will do all my apts at my house so im pleased as hate sitting in hospital for ages. With 1st dd consultant "forgot" i was there and left for the day and no-one told me for 2 hrs even though i kept asking how much longer!!!
Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling awful, have you tried acupuncture? works well on some people

nulnulcat · 20/03/2006 19:21

the agency doesnt send children for castings, they said they are just waiting to hear from the directors whether they like her - if she gets any of them it will be her first job so i will be able to have my proud mummy moment!!!

totallyfloaty35 · 20/03/2006 19:21

oops mad as a fish i am,posted on wrong threadBlush

tinkerbellchelle · 20/03/2006 19:22

tinkerbellchelle · 20/03/2006 19:24

nulcat... what agency are you with? sorry if its been said :) good luck then :)

totally :) bless you lol!

nulnulcat · 20/03/2006 19:26

im with little acorns , was getting worried as a few people on here said they werent very good and i hadnt heard from them since they signed her up in november!

totallyfloaty35 · 20/03/2006 19:28

Thanks tink,im really scatty at the moment, threw my chicken in the bin today and cooked the wrapper, only realised after horrible smell of burning plastic filled the kitchen and dogs had ripped the bin apartBlush still spag bol is just as gd.
My dds have had no castings or jobs lately,im quite pleased though as the drama rehearsals have taken over our whole lives and i dream of the day there production is finished and i dont have to drive them all over town.

Imagine · 20/03/2006 19:47

That's strange, we went to the Little Acorns seminar last week (decided not to join after hearing of neg. experiences on here and other places online) and they told us that they send children to auditions, and the casting fee which they pay to the child is £15 per audition.

I'm surprised they told you they don't send children to castings?

tinkerbellchelle · 20/03/2006 20:03

totally > bless you!! LOL :) I cant help but chuckle at you throwing the chicken and cooking the packet!! bless!!!

nulnulcat · 20/03/2006 20:12

imagine how old is your child? they told us they try to avoid sending the younger ones to castings tv work has to have auditions i think i remember but editorial work they dont, i may have got that wrong as it was october when i went to the seminar and the 3 jobs she has just been put in for wernt castings

mykidsmum · 20/03/2006 20:15

Hi nulnulcat, what they sometimes do is put forward a picture and then if they are liked from the picture they get called for a casting. There are also open castings where all are invited to attend as long as they fit the requirements. Occasionaly my children have been booked without castings but they tend to be small jobs who just deal with one agency hth

tinkerbellchelle · 20/03/2006 20:19

mykidsmum... that was what happened with our casting on friday. BG submitted his pictures then he got asked to go to the casting I think?

nulcat either way good luck! you'll have 2 keep us posted. When did they put her forward for the jobs? x

mykidsmum · 20/03/2006 20:22

Yeah that sounds right Tink, although kids can get jobs without castings I do think the big names do tend to want to see the kids, as its not just about looks as such but personality

nulnulcat · 20/03/2006 20:41

thanks for all the advice everyone, its nice to find a thread where people are nice to you was getting a bit disillusioned with mumsnet! im new to this child modelling stuff so not sure how it works, i need to ring the agency tomorrow so i will ask them for more details then
