I hope to be getting some cards ..... but only because it's my BIRTHDAY on the 15th
Postie thinks I'm v popular (or a tart!!)

Valentines is a bit of a shameless excuse for retailers to make money. Save it for my birthday instead!!

I won't be getting a card tomorrow as dh is away and hadn't realised the date. I did get a card when it was the Welsh valentine's day (St Dwynwen's day - 25th Jan) which was nice. He had planned for us to go away (the 4 of us) to somewhere nice for a night during half term but that can't happen as dd has Eisteddfod practices each day, but the thought was there. It'll happen later in the year, which is fine by me.

This year i know i am getting a card and chocs as dh bought them last week and has left them where he knew i would see them. But usually he will rush to the local shop and the last minute and grab whatever card he sees unless his mum buys it for him. I will be spending valentines on my own though as he works nights.

apparantly i am to receive a delivery tomorrow...hmmm. and i have a card waiting for me for the morning (dh working nights) but he always does things like this wether its valentines day or not. he is a long distance lorry driver so is usually away a couple of nights a week so he takes me and kids to dinner at weekends and stuff.

I'm getting a card, and DH is cooking me a meal. Almost an arguement here, and it's not even Valentines day yet".

"Don't bother cooking dinner tomorrow night, I'll do it".

"Oh wow, anything but stir fry, rice or noodles, please!" (DH lacks imagination in the kitchen)

"Oh - well what else can I cook then? And I've already bought the stuff. You could have just pretended"

I won't be getting anything either. I have always found Valentine's day depressing - especially the two years I was at boarding school and shared a room with two very pretty popular (and lovely) girls who got stacks of cards. I got around this by sending joke cards to friends and watching them try to work out who they were from (they never did ) unfortunately not taking Valentines day seriously backfired with dh (then my bf) gave me a very soppy card, and I didn't react the "right" way (I thought it was really pants to be honest!). He was very upset, and has used it as an excuse never to be romantic ever since
