......TBH - I wouldn't want dh to buy me huge bouquets of flowers - they are such a rip-off at this time of year. Rather save the money for another time.

SorenLorensen · 13/02/2006 21:11

How's this for romance then? I was just posting on Rhubarb's other Valentine's Day thread and dh was reading over my shoulder.

"That's not true" he says "I did think of Valentine's Day. I looked on moneysavingexpert.com and it said the cheapest place for a dozen red roses was Tesco (£4.79) so I went to have a look but they were crap so I didn't bother and I kept seeing blokes wandering round town with bunches of crappy Tesco roses and I was thinking to myself 'You're going to get those thrown back in your face, mate, they're rubbish.'"

So bless, he did think of me...

Now padded cards suck!
Anything with bears or the such like on them, cuddly teddies holding love hearts, eugh! I can understand men NOT wanting to go anywhere near those! But what's wrong with a handmade card and a chocolate bar?

crazydazy · 13/02/2006 21:12

Awwww hope you find something sparkler.

He might wait until tomorrow to mention his as he might have posted yours, you never know

BudaBabe · 13/02/2006 21:12

It'll be diddly squat here too - at least I hope so I have done diddly squat!

Might send him a soppy text!

Kayleigh · 13/02/2006 21:13

I know that I am being totally irrational. But I WANT a card on Valentines day

I feel that even if he doesn't beieve in it, and thinks it's totally commercial - he should do it for me 'cos he knows it would make me happy. And definitely not in the "suppose you'll want a card tomorrow" way. Which totally spoils the whole bloody thing if he does get one. Grrrrrrrrr.

Rhubarb · 13/02/2006 21:14

Shall we have a "grrrrr" thread?

Flossam · 13/02/2006 21:15

Kind of am hoping I get flowers. Has never sent me flowers before. In fact only got sent flowers after DS, never had them before. Had no idea I would get them after having him either. First trip out was to get vases!

I did have a hand-made card once from dh when he was still bf. It was on a sheet of A4 lined paper and had a pencil drawn picture of a brain with think bubbles coming out of it containing a picture of a crumpet (I wouldn't have known it was a crumpet but the brain was pretty good, I think he'd copied it from a text book). It said "You're the Thinking Man's Crumpet" I've still got it somewhere - so I guess I am a little romantically-minded.

messagedeleted · 13/02/2006 21:16

Kayleigh · 13/02/2006 21:17

OP posts:
SorenLorensen · 13/02/2006 21:18

That's when he was still boyfriend, not when he was still breast-feeding. He's younger than me but not that young!

Rhubarb · 13/02/2006 21:18

LOL! I had to read it twice too!

Freaky pervert!
