Bubblerock started this with her DH, and thought it might be good to do a MN one.
You have till Monday the 13th of FEB to find something in a charity shop for £1.50 or under...We will list them, link them and see who wins

It wil be interesting to see what the Barnsley Hospice shop has in store for moi.

colditz · 05/02/2006 21:24

Har I have 6 charity shops in 20 minutes walking distance to me.

Unfortunately I am a victim of Poor Judgement, so need all the advantages I can get!

katzg · 05/02/2006 21:28

ah living in studentsville will help me i have 5 charity shops 5 mins walk and a further 5 just down the hill.

Okay i understand about the listing fee, what are we starting the bidding at?

Nbg · 05/02/2006 21:30

£1.90 to cover fees?

Or is that too high?

mummytosteven · 05/02/2006 21:38

oh go on, will give it a go!

colditz · 05/02/2006 21:52

£1.90 sounds right.

Mirage · 05/02/2006 22:07

Count me in.I love a challenge & a bargain.
Watch out Colditz,I'll be hitting the Charity shops in your neck of the woods in the next few days

sharklet · 06/02/2006 14:30

That sounds cool. I'm in!

Nbg · 06/02/2006 14:35

I'm getting mine tomorrow.

Anyone got any ideas of what they're going to get?

Skribble · 06/02/2006 14:37

I might give this a go for a laugh as i love charity shops, my kids wore charity shop chic for the first 5 years of there lives, quite disopointing that there isn't the same selection for older kids as they tend to be more worn.

I am trying to think latterly to get a good price, do you remeber the crappy tent that was for sale and the description of it, he ended up selling it for charity and got quite a bit.

bubblerock · 06/02/2006 14:39

Hopefully another rupert scarf - don't think that's likely though! Depends on what delights I can find in the Blackpool charity shops this week.

Nbg · 06/02/2006 15:13

I was having a look on the Want it Now boards to see if there was a trend of thing people were after but didn't spot anything.

Hattie2 · 06/02/2006 15:19

There's nothing but hairdressers and charity shops on my High St - will be off bargain hunting before next monday .....

JoolsToo · 06/02/2006 22:16

charliecat · 07/02/2006 19:44

Couldnt have even got anything saleable for a fiver today..will keep on looking Anyone else found anything?

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 07/02/2006 19:47

I've had another look today in another area - but no authentic Rupert scarfs to be had!

MarsOnLife · 07/02/2006 19:52

me me me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a prize? lol

What to buy? What to buy?

Mirage · 07/02/2006 20:05

I headed to a posh county town yesterday to see what the better off amongst us donate to charity shops, but there was very little saleable stuff for £1.50 or under.I did find something for 75p & bought it because I liked it,but there are quite a few of said item on Ebay & they don't seem to sell.

I'm off to hit another batch of shops tomorrow.
Good Luck.

sharklet · 08/02/2006 06:50

Got down to my little country town charity shop today and got a glut of books and a dvd for £1 then decided actually I wanted some of them as they were really quite good. Might look for something else instead. Am in London today so I might have a swift sneaky look there as I'll be in Pimlico ans I know there are some fab ones there, not sure how much I'll get for £1.50 though!

Skribble · 08/02/2006 12:02

I haven't managed to get out due to DS being off school ill, I will try at the weekend even though kids on holiday. Does it have to be one item or can we get loads as long as total is £1.50 or less? I am fed up now as I had a good look on ebay and had decided on the kind of things to look for dam sick kids .

JoolsToo · 08/02/2006 16:11

have been to third location - still nowt

I always head straight for the scarf bin

Auntymandy · 08/02/2006 16:17

its cheap to list tomorrow, should do it then!

MarsOnLife · 08/02/2006 16:17

Got my item.

Mascaraohara · 08/02/2006 16:28
