There was a garden centre down the road from me called Celyn garden centre!! So I'd think of seedlings every time I said it... Smile

I'm sort of trying to calm down about the pg a bit now becuase the last couple of weeks since I've known have dragged so slowly!! I keep thinking that if I distract myself, suddenly I'll be 12 weeks Grin

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 26/04/2012 19:57

Haha seedlings not so good...maybe it could be your bump name :)

Before you know it you'll be 40+ then it drags haha

CupOfBrownJoy · 26/04/2012 20:01

I went to the gynae thinking I was 5+5, and I was only 5+2. The extra days have made such a big difference this week! I've been 5 weeks pg for about 6 months!!!

Wish I had a baby bump.... I've just got a cake bump Blush

Jacksmania · 26/04/2012 21:17

Hello... are you all cross with me for disappearing? Blush
I'm better now... have been seeing my counsellor every week and feeling much better, and have my intake appointment for neurofeedback (the one they screwed up) next Friday. Still have bad days but feeling better. I'm sorry I disappeared but I found myself sitting in front of the computer and just not knowing what to say. I get like that... words just don't come. That's usually how I know things are not good. Anyway. Better.

And OMG - CUP - congratulations!!!!!! I am so happy for you!!!!!!
I'm completely with you for German boys' names, they all suck. Fritz, indeed. I don't think so. How about something multinational like Alexander? Nicolas? Simon?

Song and NWN, how are you?

Going away for a girls' weekend to Seattle tomorrow. Fri morning to Sun eve, and then I'm taking Monday off work just to have some me-time. Ahhh bliss :) :) :)

NoWittyName · 27/04/2012 09:10

Hi Jacks! Lovely to have you back. We all disappear off the radar from time to time so don't think any of us will ever be cross. BTW, love the 'Safety Nest.

Cup - I know the 'dragging' feeling. Good luck trying to forget your pregnant though! Just try not to count every day. Wink

Have a fab fab weekend Jacks (and everyone else).

Hi Jacks, we all disappeared so no of course not cross! Smile

You seem to be feeling a bit better so I'm glad to hear that. Your girly weekend sounds lovely too, I am Envy Grin

Its odd, I can almost forget on a Wednesday/Thursday because DP isn't here and I don't have anyone to talk about it with! I did start looking at baby stuff but I don't really know what I'm looking at and don't have any money to spend, so I got bored quickly!

I'll be 7+3 at my next gynae appointment and I'm really hoping I hear the heartbeat Grin

Have a lovely weekend everyone xx

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 27/04/2012 19:03

Hi jacks welcome back :) glad to hear things are a bit better for you.

Things are good with me thanks.and I'm jealous of your weekend away too!!

Cup I wish we had so many appointments over here, with dd2 I only had 5 appointments plus 3 scans.

Do any of you know of anything that works well for teething? Anbesol liquid has been discontinued and I have almost none left. (apparently it will be back in a couple of months though) dd2 is just cutting another tooth and I'm thinking she will be a nightmare with no teething remedy.I seem to remember the gels being a bit rubbish.please help!

Jacksmania · 28/04/2012 05:02

Can you get Hylands Teething Tablets in the UK? They worked a treat for Jack. If you can't, pm me your address and I'll post you some.

Thank you all for being so supportive and understanding Thanks

And :o at Safety Nest, I didn't realize I mistyped :o
It's perfect though.

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 29/04/2012 20:13

Hey jacks. Hope you had a lovely time in Seattle. I will look into those tablets thanks :)

NoWittyName · 30/04/2012 16:43

Hope weekend was fab Jacks.

SBKS - we love Nelson's Teetha capsules. Homeopathic and great. Wish I'd have known about them with number 1.

Hugs all round.

Weekend was indeed fab. We really bucked up the U.S. economy :o

How's everyone today?
I have another appointment with my counsellor today, and on Friday I have the evaluation for the neurofeedback treatment. We'll see how that goes. I'm paranoid about missing that appointment - have been double and triple checking the time!

NoWittyName · 02/05/2012 19:42

SO pleased for you Jacks! Hope your appointment with the counsellor goes okay.

How are all you other lovely ladies?

CupOfBrownJoy · 02/05/2012 19:49

Evening all!

So glad your weekend went well, Jacks, and good luck for your appointment.

I'm having a sofa evening and an early night tonight - I'm definitely feeling more tired and peeing a lot too! Apart from that so far being pg is a walk in the park! No sickness or anything horrid (yet) so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.... Smile

Jacksmania · 02/05/2012 20:18

Keep telling yourself that Cup! :o

NoWittyName · 07/05/2012 20:22

Hi ladies. How has everyone's bank holiday been (and for all you foreigners out there Wink, how's your weekend and Monday been?)

OP posts:
CupOfBrownJoy · 08/05/2012 02:54

Er guess what! I spoke too soon!Grin

I saw the gynae yesterday, and whilst everything is still going well, and I'm still feeling fine, there is a problem with my immune levels....

If you work with children the docs blood test you for immunity to something called cm-something (related to herpes virus). Apparently if you get it you just get fluey symptoms, but if your pg it can cause serious birth defects. Anyway I've never had it and therefore don't have any immunity to it.

So, upshot is I've been signed off work til my due date - Christmas! I'd be overjoyed if I hated my job but I'm gutted! I've let my colleagues and my class down, they've got SATs coming up, there's so much to do in school before the summer....Sad I've got to go and explain things to my big boss this morning - hence why I'm awake worrying!

I hate the fact I'll just end up sloping off from work, no proper goodbyes... I'm also going to go stir crazy with no job and I've no idea what I'm entitled to financially as I'm self employed. It's massive worry.

So, my poor teaching assistant takes over my class and gets landed in the shit... Plus I've also decided I can't lie to my colleagues about why I'm off, which means coming clean about the pregnancy even though I'm only 7+5.

Shit shit shit SadSad

Jacksmania · 08/05/2012 05:30

Oh shit Cup. It's cytomegalovirus. Here, this page might help with some more info.
Crap. But we'll try very hard to keep you entertained.
((((((HUGS)))))))

CupOfBrownJoy · 08/05/2012 05:42

Thanks so much for that link Jacks.

Everything I've found on the internet talks about taking extra hygiene precautions etc, it just seems so odd that here in Germany you are immediately signed off work! I mean, obvious its great that they don't want you to take any risks, but it just seems quite drastic.

I toyed with the idea of offering to work in upper school with the teenagers but to be honest the doctor didn't mention it, and I'm not even qualified to work with older children, and do I really want to be doing a teaching assistants position and marking my days when I could be signed off? Its MY job and MY kids and colleagues I'm going to miss iyswim.

it does just seem easier to go along with the gynae's advice and stay off completely. I'm soooo not looking forward to the school's reaction this morning. They're not the most understanding of employers.....

I haven't slept a wink since 2am. I'll try and get a nap when I get back from my meeting.

NoWittyName · 08/05/2012 10:56

Oh Cup that's shit. But if your employer is being horrible about it just keep in mind that your and your bump's health is more important than anything they can do or say! Can you make a video for your class so you can at least 'say goodbye' to them without feeling like you've just walked away?

I am not surprised you're awake and worrying. HUGE hugs.

Jacksmania · 08/05/2012 19:30

How did it go today, Cup? :(

CupOfBrownJoy · 08/05/2012 19:38

I went in really early and waited for the school director. He took it all very well and said he'd make the appropriate calls for me and let me know (school finance guy, legal guy, HR etc). Then I had a nice long chat with my direct boss and it was all ok.

I didn't hear anything back though and when I popped back into school later on the director had just told the HR dragon lady, who apparently was "spitting feathers". Well, she can spit feathers all she likes but its not going to change anything!

So my position didn't get sorted today and now I'm waiting tomorrow to hear what happens as far as not going in any more, my contract and my pay are concerned.

I went to the weekly meeting and told my colleagues. They were all congratulatory and sympathetic, although I know they will also have been thinking about all the slack they have to pick up. I wrote a 6 page weekly summary for my cover teacher and took him through as much stuff in the classroom as I could think of....

My boss asked if there was a possibility I could continue to work, but wearing a surgical mask!! I just sort of made a non committal noise and did this face ---> Hmm

So, early night tonight, then another day waiting around tomorrow until I definitely know what I'm doing....

How is everyone else? Sorry for the long moans today!

Jacksmania · 08/05/2012 19:42

Cup, could you ask if it would it be possible for your OB to write to the school and explain exactly why he thinks you shouldn't work? Would that help?
What a shit situation for everyone :(

(((HUG)))

CupOfBrownJoy · 08/05/2012 19:46

as far as I understand it, its not a sick note that the doctor has written. Its a legal notice that, with my immune levels, and my specific job, I am legally not allowed (the letter says "Verboten") to work, so its pretty blanket coverage...

I'll sit tight until tomorrow. I'm just waiting for everything to be cleared up then I'm going to pack the car and bugger off down to DP's forever for the foreseeable future.... every cloud Smile

Jacksmania · 08/05/2012 20:08

Yes, exactly :)

NoWittyName · 08/05/2012 20:50

ooh those lovely clouds...keep them in mind.
