... it's all going pearshaped with Essbee's temporary living arrangements with her childfree sister.

What are her best options for finding cheap, short term accomodation??!

What about out of season holiday apartments?

NomDePlume · 15/01/2006 13:19

oh crikey, poor essbee

mummytosteven · 15/01/2006 13:20

I know I'm miles away, but they are welcome to stay with us in Liverpool for a while.

Only thing I can think of offhand is Travelodge.

spacedonkey · 15/01/2006 13:20

argh - what's happened soupy?

JayzMummy · 15/01/2006 13:44

How long does she need a place to stay???

SoupDragon · 15/01/2006 13:52

What went wrong? Childfree sister meets lively children for first extended period of time in an enclosed space

She guessed at "until the week after next". It's all to do with the house she's buying and something to do with the divorce.

Obviously the children have started at their new school and her DS won't react well to more mucking baout TBH.

Have suggested she try B&Bs, Lucy5, as they may be able to do a "deal" because it's a quiet time.

puff · 15/01/2006 14:09

travelodge is doing a £10 per night deal at the mo - might be worth a look it covers Exeter.

Poor essbee!

spacecadet · 15/01/2006 14:14

poor essbee, i can only think of travelodges, or possibly bed and breakfast, its a quiet time of year so she may be able to get somewhere cheap.
though, she doesnt need this.

SoupDragon · 15/01/2006 14:31

Travelodge works out at £50 per night (need 7 days notice for supersaver rooms online).

She said she'd fond somewhere to rent for £250 a week but it's a lot of money!

spacecadet · 15/01/2006 14:32

travel inn?, slightly cheaper and nicer IMO, than travelodge

SoupDragon · 15/01/2006 14:36

Exeter Travel Inn full...

I think she needs to tell her sister that she can't possibly move out at such short notice. It's impossible to find somewhere!

Grrr.

misdee · 15/01/2006 14:37

she wanstt them out now? today?

WideWebWitch · 15/01/2006 14:38

Oh no! Let me think too.

puff · 15/01/2006 14:38

I can't believe her sister is doing this tbh

WideWebWitch · 15/01/2006 14:39

If I was still in Devon she'd have been welcome at my house, but I'm not. Out of season holiday let has got to be the answer, surely?

bubblerock · 15/01/2006 14:39

She could try contacting this lady - if it's empty she might be happy to earn a few quid - give Essbee my love by the way and tell her it wouldn't be an adventure if it all went smoothly!!

misdee · 15/01/2006 14:39

list of b and b

puff · 15/01/2006 14:42

A holiday rental company I've used a lot for Devon & Cornwall is Helpful Holidays - maybe they could help!

tamum · 15/01/2006 14:43

Agree with www, there must be loads of holiday lets that would be going cheap at this time of year. The only other thing I can think of is sneaking into the university accommodation office and looking at the boards in there (or online) and see if there is anything cheap that she could go for (not hall of residence, obviously, cheap houses).

WideWebWitch · 15/01/2006 14:43

what about this, cottage for £150 and is avail according to laterooms I searched for all family rooms, here

WideWebWitch · 15/01/2006 14:43

WideWebWitch · 15/01/2006 14:44

£150 is for 3 days btw.

spacedonkey · 15/01/2006 14:45

Would the local council be able to help?

spacecadet · 15/01/2006 14:46

there is a website called laterooms which has rooms slashed in price because they are cancellations etc, avaliable from today.
at her sister.
