I need a Job.....................

Beetrootfultoyourself · 03/01/2006 16:55

As some of yo know, I work in the theatre. Since leaving LOndon things have not been easy. My job does not exsist outside LOndon. I have done a few jobs up there but it does mean being away from the family for 8/10 weeks.

I trained as a Drama Teacher but have never taught. I am thinking that perhaps I need to start thinking about teaching. Even just doing some supply.

I need a job for my sanity.
I could do with the money.

I am not sure what else I coudl do.....and I am feeling rather shite and bored.

help???? Any Ideas????

Just catching up with this thread - it looks like things ar moving along.. just throwing some other ideas at you, beetroot and sobernow fwiw.

Two different friends of mine who worked in the theatre boost their income by doing corporate films, one day workshops and presentations.

I know my employer (big local council) sends lots of its staff on customer care skills/presentation skills/assertivenbess training/writing skills/events management type workshops. Each year every department has a fund for staff training and development and managers have to use it up, so there's always a demand for courses.

Could you try contacting some big public and private organisations to see what sort of courses they send their staff on, then see if you could create workshops that would fill their needs?

Beetrootfultoyourself · 03/01/2006 18:47

tigermoth, thank you for that. hVE TO GO OUT NOW, BUT WILL THINK ABOUT THAT....
