I need a Job.....................

Beetrootfultoyourself · 03/01/2006 16:55

As some of yo know, I work in the theatre. Since leaving LOndon things have not been easy. My job does not exsist outside LOndon. I have done a few jobs up there but it does mean being away from the family for 8/10 weeks.

I trained as a Drama Teacher but have never taught. I am thinking that perhaps I need to start thinking about teaching. Even just doing some supply.

I need a job for my sanity.
I could do with the money.

I am not sure what else I coudl do.....and I am feeling rather shite and bored.

help???? Any Ideas????

if theatre and drama is what you love to do, then it would be a terrible shame to leave it

Beetrootfultoyourself · 03/01/2006 17:20

donkey I love it but it is so difficult to make it work. If I was inLondon I would be full time employed but it is not the same down here.

I have taken my photography semi seriously.

|I could train in some sort of counselling

CBT might be good - the govt is investing heavily in it so I hear

veryveryexcited · 03/01/2006 17:30

beety, changed my name for this because If I post this under my usual name I will "out" myself and like my anonymity.

I'd out myself because I'm going to retrain for something very specialised - completely different field to my previous career but does have some vague links with my degree (studied many moons ago).

I'm not suggesting you should go for this, but am suggesting you look at all possibilities, however off thw wall they may seem.

I'm going to do an MA in Conservation at one of the big Art Colleges in London.

After that, I hope to get a place at either the Courtauld Institute or V&A Academy of Arts to qualify as a conservator in the field of paintings or possibly frescoes.

I really would not have though it possible to make such a change, but dh encouraged me to widen my perspective. I'm really excited.

flashingnose · 03/01/2006 17:30

What about working on the Cheltenham Festival?

CountessDracula · 03/01/2006 17:30

How about working in a prison? Johnny Vaughan for eg got into what he does by doing prison panto! (dh was a mate of his when he was a naughty boy)

spacedonkey · 03/01/2006 17:31

fantastic vvexcited! good luck with your course

Beetrootfultoyourself · 03/01/2006 17:32

VVEX, that does sound a wonderful shange to make. I cannot think of anything that I feelmore excited about than theatre at the moment though...
