purse
keys

half eaten Peter Rabbit museli bar (Lotties)
chewing gum
mobile phone
a pen
some paper clips ???
the back of an earing

FineVintage · 29/10/2003 13:48

I've given up on my bag now ! As a SAHM I rarely have the need for a bag of my own, I just chuck my mobile, purse and keys in DD's nappy bag. Though this thread had prompted me to empty out my old bag (just dumped in the cupboard, still full). It contains....

Keys & a padlock (?)
A receipt from Currys dating back to December '99 for £79.99
A cooler teething ring
A shell and a pebble (given to me by DS1 'to look after'
A furry chapstick with the lid missing
Small round make up mirror
Crumbs
Half a pack of Extra chewing gum
A taxi firm business card
A dentist appt reminder card

M2T · 29/10/2003 13:49

Dunno why that "a comb" featured at the end of that! oooops

FineVintage · 29/10/2003 13:50

Kayleigh - whats Rescue Remedy?
Whatever it is it sounds like something I'd like to have!

handlemecarefully · 29/10/2003 13:58

Very functional bag I am proud to say:

Contents: house keys, car keys, mobile and purse.

Dd's bits and bobs are kept in a bespoke 'babyrucks' changing bag.

Dh thinks I'm anal retentive.

kayleigh · 29/10/2003 13:59

M2T - It's Bachs Rescue remedy. Herbal stuff that is meant to calm you down !! It's in a dropper and you put a few drops on your tongue. You can buy in Boots or any chemist.

I used to take when I had PND. Still need it occasionally - usually when I'm very pre-menstrual or expecting a visit from my mum !!

salt · 29/10/2003 14:13

Are you guys all Mary Poppins in disguise? I could never fit that much stuff in my bag and I'm far to unorganised to bring make-up to work... and nail glue??

I feel so inadequite!!

kayleigh · 29/10/2003 14:19

salt, most of the stuff in my work bag stays there all the time. I don't transfer stuff - only purse, chequebook and phone. I always have two of everything lipsticks, nail glue, powder etc - one at home and one in my work bag to save hassle.

susanmt · 29/10/2003 14:48

I don't even have a handbag any more - just stuff things in my pocket or in top of nappy bag (I do like my Babybjorn smart nappy bag!!).

unmentionable crumbs
mobile
old receipts
lipstick
pen
finger puppet
small car
lots of loose change, mostly coppers!
